Joking aside, you know our Kimmel must love those Gleason albums.

Bumping for Bruce Kimmel, who expressed a mild interest in the thread.

I've loved these albums since I was a young teen. So romantic and smooth, especially when it's raining. Love the covers, too. I give a lot of credit for the "sound" especially on the earlier albums, to Bobby Hackett and his glorious trumpet playing.

I was producing an album and there was an instrumental section in one of the songs and the orchestrator had made it a trumpet feature, but I just didn't like the way it sounded, so I went to the player and said, "Bobby Hackett it" - he knew exactly what that meant and got it on the very next take.
