I'm surprised Thor and JWFan.com missed this, but one of the executive producers spoke about the scoring (back when Christopher Drake was the composer) and how they'll be using Williams material:

I have no idea of Lennertz will be doing the same.

I have heard the series will air in May 2018.

Well rumor has it that

The Scores for the series are being recorded at in England at Abbey Road..

Another rumor is that we'll get a few tips of the Hat to a certain gentleman who used to go by "Johnny'

As ar as I'm concerned Mr. Lennertz is a great choice for the gig.

I would be mightily surprised if they use anything other than a reference to Williams' theme.

Oh no, I hear Cylons! Also I read Judy is a black. So I guess she's adopted?

That trailer was terrible.

It's the same bland annoying crap we get from other trailers: slow music, slow-motion scenes, meaningless jumbled excerpts, some drama around the end, and a voice.

Oh, and:
CinemaSins: "Narration." (DING)

I like the trailer -- and the music, including the brief snippet of Williams' theme at the end. Looks far less cheesy than I had expected (I was expecting some of the same camp values that haunted the original show -- and the feature film version from the 90s).

I guess it's a teaser but yeah I got nothing out of it.

"teaser" is a bad word for it. "Annoying" is a more proper one.

And, apparently, Dr. Smith is a woman.
(But I'll bet that no one will be allowed to criticize the change.)

Also, yes, the trailer was terrible.
"We needed a grittier LIS that looks more like 'Armageddon', dammit!", said no one.

Speaking as someone who saw the launch of the Jupiter 2 in 1965, this teaser seems like a really good update of this story.

I can't wait to see it.

I'm told that Mr Lennertz might well be using a tune or two written by the Jedi Musical Master in younger days that will make fans like myself very happy.

So I'm good with it.

I was somewhat deflated by what appears to me to be a trope now more often being used in Science Fiction and Science Fantasy (of which I have been an afficiando for week over 50 years), to the effect that the Earth has been destroyed by humans and that we now have a privileged group who are able to escape said destruction. As two examples, Avatar in film and Children of Time in novel form.

I find this starting point to be defeatist and depressing to say the least, particularly since I am quite heavily involved in particular conservation fund raising efforts.

A terribly original teaser? No. But I thought it was effective.

I'll put it this way: I had no interest in this project until I saw the teaser. Now I think I'll check it out.

FYI, if you see the original pilot for LOST IN SPACE, the reason for the mission was due to the fact that Earth was suffering from massive overpopulation and we need to go to third planet in the Alpha Centauri star system to establish a colony so that other Earth people can settle there.

So the basic idea has been part of the show for since the very start.

PS. Just realized this thread was supposed to be about the music.
Oops.
Sorry about that!

Same here, I'm certainly intrigued now, this teaser trailer did the job for me.

Yeah. What Thor and Schiffy said.
Based on that teaser/trailer, I will give it a whirl.
Apologies for the optimism.
