If it's ROCKET TO THE MOON and if the rest music sounds as good as LP from youtube (posted in Scott thread) - I'm in too! smile

Got A BOY NAMED CHARLIE BROWN today. Enjoying it very much. Lovely title tune and splendid upbeat, bubbly jazz throughout. We already know it's a WINNER for Bruce and the Kritzerland label. Keep'em coming. My complaining days are over with Kritzerland and Varese. I don't expect every release to be my cup of tea, but I think they are on the right track. At least for me. smile

Yes, I just received my CD today and it is just wonderful!

Congrats, Bruce on such a great release and PLEASE let us
know if you do get any info on the possible release of
PUMPKIN and THANKSGIVING. Having these other two
scores would really complete my PEANUTS music collection.

Whoa! This went quickly... already sold out.

Ah crap.

I mean, awesome for Bruce, seriously. But...ah crap. This JUST came to my attention.

Still, weirdly, it's great to see a CD sell out so fast again. Congratulations Kritzerland!

Sold out at Kritzerland doesnt mean sold out on SAE or another store.

And why I didn't think to check other retailers myself remains a mystery. SAE it is. Thanks!

You were mentally still in the real world where sold out usually means sold out. I've sometimes panicked too, forgetting it only applies to the issuing label.

I am REALLY enjoying this release and loving the Rod McKuen main title theme. Bruce, since I know you have been a leader in releasing/rescuing older Musical titles I hope someday you could release the Hallmark Hall of Fame 1973 live version of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown." Especially if it was doubled up with the 1966 'concept album' release! Either way, THANK YOU for this CD!

As Chuck himself said on the Christmas tree lot in "A Charlie Brown Christmas":

"Fan-TAS-tic!"

Been watching this movie since I was three (1985!) and the music always stuck out. Hearing the unedited film and alternate variations of my favorite piece, "Skating," is simply a thrill.

Only one minor caveat:

The second movement of Beethoven's Sonata No. 8 is missing; the section that Schroeder plays to all of the "Fantasia"-esque animation, after Lucy leaves the room. That is my favorite part of the whole movie; moody and dark, yet soothing and wonderous. I had always hoped it would be included on any future soundtrack album. Only the brief excerpt of the third movement is included.

Has that particular recording--performed by Ingolf Dahl--ever been released to CD otherwise? I'd really love to tack it onto this album in iTunes.

Other than that, fan-TAS-tic!

What an amazingly fantastic release this is! I have wanted this score since I was a wee lad, and I appreciate all of the effort that was put into this gorgeous cd. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

What an amazingly charming album. I haven't seen the film in decades, but this makes me want to seek it out again. Amazing score with some really fun and even touching songs. Such a fabulous release.

This album is SO much fun. It's a real treat to hear these iconic themes played in different tempos and arrangements than what I'd become accustomed to over the years listening to other Guaraldi/Peanuts albums. The slinky, crime-jazzy performance of "Linus and Lucy" in track 13 alone is--pardon the cliché--worth the price of admission. Just a gas.

Incidentally, I haven't seen the movie since I was a wee lad, so I just requested a copy of the DVD from the library. Looking forward to it.

Terrific release, Bruce, much welcomed. Especially glad to see that John Scott Trotter's compositional contributions to the movie weren't forgotten, his "Bus Wheel Blues" being a tune that has been imprinted in my memory for a long, long time. Of course, the Guaraldi song adaptations were also great to hear.

Thanks, Kritzerland, for releasing this terrific soundtrack recording.
