If you enjoy Sword and Sandal films with a touch of science fiction and fantasy, pick up IL GIGANTE DI METROPOLIS (THE GIANT OF METROPOLIS) on Kronos Records before this sells out.

Trovajoli covers the 60s, 70s, and 80s. What is your favourite type of scores? Beat/Lounge music? orchestral? musicals? disco/synth?

Trovajoli is better known for beat/lounge but has fine orchestral scores as well if that's what you're looking for.

My favourites are:

L'arcidiavolo
La famiglia benvenuti
Dramma della gelosia
Il commissario pepe
Il vinchingo venuto dal sud
Setti uomini d'oro

As to Trovajoli, the rather new Italian label Four Flies Records will release on September 20st for the first time his complete 1960 crime-jazz score CHIAMATE 22-22 TENENTE SHERIDAN, but only on an LP limited to 500 copies, not on CD:
http://fourfliesrecords.bandcamp.com/album/chiamate-22-22-tenente-sheridan

Of course, this is another item from the huge CAM catalogue, although two tracks of the music had been released on an RCA 45rpm single in 1960.

A suite with sound clips can be heard here:

Uh oh, Leo - yer askin' for it! wink

I've gotten more Trovajoli discs over the past 2 years than during my first 28 years (out of 30) collecting soundtracks.

Like it or lump it, it's the early 1960s which I love the most.

1959

Poveri Milionari

1960

Seddok (this is like a Mexican horror movie with music by Alex North)

1961 [THE banner year of AT's genre music on CD ... thus far)

Ercole Al Centro Della Terra
Gigante di Metropolis, Il
Lycanthropus
Maciste l'Uomo piu' Forte del Mondo

1962

Pianeti contro di Noi, I (don't hold this recommendation against me - it's the planets who are against us!)
Toto' e Peppino Divisi a Berlino (sounds not unlike what Vic Mizzy would provide 2 years later for THE ADDAMS FAMILY)

1963

Fornaretto Di Venezia, Il

1964

Che fine ha fatto Toto' Baby? (Mario Bava tracked the 'marijuana' music from this flick to underscore the little girl & bouncing ball seen in his Kill, Baby, Kill)

1965

Casanova '70 (Armando used the Brazilian Cuíca in this 3 years before Goldsmith did it in POTA)

1968

Rapporto Fuller Base Stoccolma (perhaps my favorite Euro-Spy album I've heard yet)

Wow, thanks Zardoz, guess I'll have to start saving up now ! lol
I also like the stuff he did in the Seventies with singer Miss Edda Dell'Orso.

Here's one from 1969 featuring Edda.

You'd probably like this 1973 item, Leo:

Paolo il Caldo

Maybe even his Jekyll & Signora from the late '70s:

2 very good scores by Trovajoli.

Le Bambole is an Interesting score if you like jazz, funk, lounge music, I like this cd is very much party sound. smile

Le Ercole Al Centro Della Terra, is recommended its a great horror nice dark orchestra with an excellent array of instruments, one of my favourites by Trovajoli.

So, Leo, did you decide upon anything from amongst our suggestions?
Have you received any new-to-you Trovajoli album(s) yet?
Thoughts?
