Is it worth it to get the special editions of The Hobbit scores? I am not sure which ones to buy
Honestly, the only Hobbit score that really does much for me is An Unexpected Journey. I found the expanded edition of that score to be a bit of an improvement over the standard issues. I also recall that that was the release with the greatest amount of extra material relative to the standard editions, though my memory may be rusty.
What is the track where Thorin, at the end, gets of the tree and walks to Azog in slow motion? I can't seem to find it...
The track as used in the movie (utilizing the Nazgul theme from Lord of the Rings) was a change late in the process, and is not available on CD at this point. Shore's original intentions for the track are in "Out of the Frying Pan."
Since the the LOTR CR are coming back to universal claim, I was wondering what is the appetite for a compete release of the Hobbit score? From my recollection a large portion of the Hobbit score was re-recorded for the film and was not released while portions of Shore's original recorded score ended up on disc.
In relation to the other other Hobbit scores would a CR be needed? Thanks
Yes, the OST version of 'An Unexpected Journey' was dramatically different from what was in the film. The other albums had their differences as well, but not as significant as the first.
I for one am hoping to get a release of the complete music used in the films, but only time will tell.
I sent an email to Doug Adams about a complete recording of the The Hobbit, however I don;t think he uses that email anymore. Anyone else know a way to contact him or knows if he's answered anything about CR of The Hobbit scores?
