Would love some Albert Glasser CISCO KID music .

Seconded!

Well, I'm not sure he has those tapes - I do know someone who does, however smile One of these days...

I'm greatly looking forward to more high quality CDs from Kritzerland! smile

so I guess we dont need MMM after all. wink
[just a joking a reminder who the thread was about]

Yes, it was about MMM, but MMM has nothing to say. Oh well.

Hopefully Bruce will start a new thread about his forthcoming Golden Age CD very
soon now.

True, so I suppose it's apropos that Bogie said to Bergman at the end of Casablanca: "We'll always have Kritzerland." Or was it "Here's looking at you, Bruce." I dunno, you get the picture.

For those who enjoy the jokes in MMM's liner books, I'll be signing my new humor book, "Frosty's Family," at Barnes & Noble Thursday night, December 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. Hope to see you there!

Yes, MMM plans on more CDs down the line -- I've been busy writing and co-writing a wide variety of books the past year or so.

David, still plans for more CDs? I remember you talked about Richard LaSalle. Or how about Alexander Laszlo?

Why not contact him directly if you have a question.

Well, here's virtually no talk about all those great MMM CDs at all! big grin

All those fantastic re-recordings or the unexpected releases of original recordings.

I listen to the albums still regularly and especially Creature From the Black Lagoon (and other jungle pictures) is one of my favorite Film Music releases. It's without doubt on one level with Charles Gerhardt's famous re-recordings.

Thanks for your interest. While we haven't been working on our own CDs, I have been secretly working behind the scenes with a number of soundtrack labels and getting them access to music, helping with legalities, information, etc. I would love to do more new recordings, but I'd need a ton of money because there just aren't enough people out there to support the type of titles I would really enjoy doing. Wish we could have done more when we were on a roll, but too many illegal downloads, file-sharing, etc. took the profit out of the mix.

I've been writing books lately, have my first children's book out soon, although it's more of a book for dog lovers. People who know me know I'm obsessed with Scottish Terriers, and you'll see the result at http://www.twoscotties.com

Also trying to bring back classic radio comedy in terms of a podcast about love and relationships. Very funny, so we'll see if it can catch on. You can get a sample at http://www.lisaandlarry.com There's some music in the episodes by my dear friend Herman Stein. My partner is the well-known Susanne Whatley, "Morning Edition" host for NPR in Los Angeles.

And I'm doing lots of DVD commentaries, book chapters on film music, music licensing, and other things keeping me way too busy.

So let's see how 2020 goes, and if there's a way to get back to the music, I would love to do it. But in the meantime I'm letting others have access to some of the music I have in my collection and they will be bringing it to you on their own labels.

And all of our MMM CDs are still selling, which is great. I have no idea how people keep finding out about us, but they are and lots of new customers are turning up all the time. Can never figure it out. Like all of a sudden everyone wanted THE BLOB, and I guess because of this COVID-19 disaster, people are ordering THE LAST MAN ON EARTH. LOL! If anyone spots any floating brains outside, I'm sure THE BRAIN FROM PLANET AROUS will start selling even more. It's one of my favorite scores of all we've put out!

Everyone, stay safe and sane. We can't afford to lose any film music fans, seeing as there are so few of us to begin with!

Very interesting. Thanks for catching us up with you, David. So there is life after soundtracks. wink

I hope someone will raid your unreleased Sawtell collection.

Thanks for the update, David! smile

If you have some spare time writing for other projects you should write an article about the use of library music for the first season of "Adventures of Superman". Your liner notes for the "Open Secret" soundtrack CD on MMM shed some light on this but the old Varese CD is so confusing with all the obvious edits in the cues and the missing composer information.

David, your best release for me was SHIP OF FOOLS. You probably took a financial beating on its release, but it was a beautiful Ernest Gold score that I was happy to see released.

Well put, and here's my contribution by a remark I have posted many times before on this message board, but bears repeating as it concerns such wonderful music:

My absolute favourite is "The Blob", track 32 "Birds in flight" by A. F. Lavagnino.
It was an absolute revelation hearing it for the first several times, and it still impresses me with its beauty.

For anyone interested in hearing me ramble about a wide range of topics, including Herman Stein, LOST IN SPACE, etc., I had fun doing this interview a few months ago.

Now I have to get back to selling my Scottie books, which just arrived three days ago...

Over on Classic Horror Film Board, David mentioned that Gene Kauer's score for CAPE CANAVERAL MONSTERS "exists in lovely condition."
If he has it and still represents the composer, would be nice to crank it out before we all turn to dust. Pair it with "Monstrosity" aka Atomic Brain.
