La-La Land Records, Paramount Pictures and The Carmen Dragon Music Library present the world premiere release of composer Carmen Dragon’s (COVER GIRL, WHEN IN ROME, KISS TOMORROW GOODBYE) original motion picture score to the classic 1956 sci-fi chiller INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, starring Kevin McCarthy, Dana Wynter and Larry Gates, and directed by Don Siegel. Renowned composer/conductor/arranger Carmen Dragon creates an astoundingly complex and groundbreaking work, (his inventive use of low, staccato piano notes for suspense would inspire many composers to do the same) that perfectly emboldens the film’s sci-fi terror and paranoia, while never neglecting the story’s human emotions or its psychological and sociological underpinnings. Produced for La-La Land Records by Carmen Dragon’s son-in-law, Richard “Rick” Henn and Neil S. Bulk, and restored and mastered by Stephen Marsh and Fernando Lee, this limited edition release of 2000 Units includes source music bonus tracks and features exclusive, in-depth liner notes by film music Jeff Bond, with a special note from album co-producer Henn. Dan Goldwasser’s sharp art design completes a must-have score release that will take over your entire being!

LA-LA LAND RECORDS PRESENTS....

Music by Carmen Dragaon

Who saw this coming???

noone, as this appeared to be MIA. Reactions of shock fill the earlier announcement thread.
I remember checking the Carmen Dragon Music Library site last year but didnt find any references to the film.

Hope LLL corrects that name typo.
Also hoping one of those source cues is the truck radio music that lures Miles and Becky out of the tunnel.

No word of a lie, I was just thinking about 2 weeks ago how much I wished this score would see the light of day. Now obviously LLL was working on this long before my wish, but it's not the first time I wished it. Just sayin'.

I am so excited about this one, for sure! (And thanks, Leo. I had no idea Daryl was Carmen's son. Nifty.)

I too was very surprised when MV / LLL announced this score was coming a week or two ago.
It's a classic film and an excellent score to match!

I saw the film when it came out in 1956, I was 10 at the time. The kids were screaming and loved the film!

Thanks MV, please try to keep the Golden Age CDs coming! smile

Ok, I seriously cannot stop laughing at this.

I borrowed the movie from my library this weekend as I had never seen the original. Glad I did!

In fact, I'm fairly annoyed at MV for not arranging for the Captain & Tennille to sign the first 100 copies. Way to go, buddy!

I just bought it. Long time in coming. Now if only I can get my last two wishes for 1950's Sci-Fi OTS
-INVADERS FROM MARS by Mort Glickman (Raoul Kraushaar-sort of), 1953
-BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS by David Buttolph, 1953

I guess one can only about those two.

Well for BEAST we at least have the excellent suite recorded by Monstrous Movie Music. Has there been any legit release of anything from the '53 INVADERS FROM MARS?
