I just happened to see a copy on Amazon for $34.95. That is a great price - actually quite a bit less than I paid 2 years ago. Just thought I'd share - and NO, it is not my ad.smile

I remember this going for hundreds of dollars 20 years ago. So I obviously never got it. But I remember the film well -- I think someone tricked our teacher into showing it to the class during "film session" (which we sometimes had), and she was shocked by how violent it was.

Whats holding up a reissue?!

The fact that nobody will buy it?

(I liked it AND the film back then, though!)

If Howard the (t*tty) Duck merits a release so does this merit a re-release.

I found this at a flea market this summer for $1! - I haven't seen the film, or listened to the CD yet - maybe this weekend is a good time to give this one a spin.

Oh man, you're in for a treat. The movie actually isn't bad as blatant DIE HARD ripoffs go, as long as you can buy Sean Astin as a protozoan John McClane, but the score is aces. Big, clean-lined orchestral action with a beater of a main theme. Folk has always been a brilliant tunesmith but this is one of my favorites of his. And versatile as hell, pingponging between bright, youthful readings and a mournful dirge.

I will check it out for sure, at home they want to watch the 1986 Keanu Reeves film "Flying" which we noticed was on YouTube - so I will see if I can watch Toy Soldiers when it's my pick next. smile Or just watch it on my next day off LOL. Trying to get through Stranger things S3 - almost done!

Yeah, it's not so much Astin-as-McClane but it's like ALL of the youths as Mini McClanes (yeah, I guess Astin is the leader, whatever!). It's enjoyable for what it is. Thumbs up!

It's Astin-as-McClane and Wil Wheaton-as-Ray Liotta.

I LOVE this score. It's one of my favorites and my favorite Robert Folk score. This is really an excellent and emotional piece of work. I have always said there is something magical about Robert Folk's works. I can't put it into words, but his stuff just sounds different than everyone else's. All's Well is a super uplifting track while Joey's Death is heavy in emotion. I was lucky enough to nab this score at a decent price. If anyone is on the fence about this one and finds it a reasonable price, pick it up!
