Strange we get this before LIS. Hopefully someone is moving forward with the rest of the IA products.

Reading through the customer reviews on Amazon, the episoees on the region 2 DVD release were cut, with the teaser scenes for the next episode missing, although they were present on a bonus disc. Very odd. Hopefully, these have been returned the episodes. Perhaps that's what they mean by "All 30 episodes to be restored to their original uncut format & broadcast order."

•••WARNING

"Unfortunately the company releasing Time Tunnel have not been supplied with genuine HD masters for the series so the Bluray will simply be standard definition masters upscaled. While the available bitrates will be higher so pictures will look slightly better the images will not be genuine HD so in all honesty releasing it on Bluray seems pointless other than to correct the awful dvd version that re-edited the episodes to remove the cliffhangers from their proper place. If you want a good version of the show it may be cheaper to get the US region 1 import. Paying over £40 for a Bluray that is not HD is a waste of money. To be fair Revelation did tell me they had enquired about HD masters but were unsuccessful. This release was planned for quite a while back so perhaps the long delay of several months means that they are waiting on genuine HD masters. Unless that is the case don't waste time with a Bluray that isn't HD. Sales may encourage other companies to pull the same stunt."

I would have preferred a remaster to fill HDTV screens, much like they did so perfectly, with THE DUKES OF HAZZARD.

Happily it looks like (Member) was wrong & these transfers are the real thing (but that post is four years old). I won't be buying the set, as all the sixties TV sets I've bought, I haven't looked at one of them & probably never will (& I have enough TV sets from the last twenty years to last me quite a while). It's good news that the set is multi-region.

From the posts and reviews, this is obviously a different product and the real deal. But I couldnt even make it through the dvds so I'll pass on it, although it still looks tempting.

Read a review (like dvdbeaver) before you start spreading manure. Amazon never has the exact facts right, but in this case it confirms what Dvdbeaver indicated:
All region BR release for the 1st time... Tech Info: AUDIO*: ORIGINAL MONO + NEW 5. 1 / ENGLISH

I didn't mean to make you feel that bad. But since you seem interested in the release, hopefully it's good to be wrong about the region-lock thing.

No problem - yes, always love this show, anything “time travel”-related really.

I do have the original Fox DVDs, but since we cleared up the region issue,
this might be pretty cool to pick up:-)

The only thing I would worry about is if any bonus features are in standard video instead of high def. They would probably be in PAL format since this is from the UK. Most modern equipment plays both Ntsc and Pal, but Pal video/audio will be sped-up slightly.

I got this yesterday and it looks spectacular. Yes, it's region free and you can choose between a very vibrant mono sound mix and a 5.1 mix which sounds distorted to me. It defaults to the mono, so that's fine.

It's great to have this series in high def finally. After years of the flipper discs, this is a welcome release indeed.

Now just Voyage and Land of the Giants....
