I have a DVD of Murnau`s silent Nosferatu in which multiple composers take a crack at putting music to the classic, given at the time of this particular release the music tracks were lost/unavailable. It would be quite interesting to see the original Rollerball with supplementary replacement scores rather than the tracked classical themes... were I bankrolling such myself, via my limitless fortunes, I might even suggest attempting to maintain the character of the opening pipe organ work by having the artists attempt their own version of it. Eban Schletter and Michael G. Shapiro would be good candidates for such. Do you have the one with the score by James Bernard? Wonderful. Ok, it gives a classic silent the feel of a Hammer film, but in this case I love it. And the last chance to get another excellent score by Bernard. All rather timely as we wait for the forthcoming re-recordings of Dracula and Curse of Frankenstein..

Why has this movie not been remade? It seems a natural. It has, David, by Luc Besson, and it was thorough pants. Eric Serra’s score was one of the worst ever. Edit: I beg his pardon, it was John McTiernan. And still pants. I fail to see how "pants" is nearly enough of a significant pejorative in Remakeball's case. The title alone is its own epithet. There's a part in it when LL Cool J tries to outrun authorities with his motorcycle, and when he breaks through a barbed fence, AND I KID YOU NOT, an extremely loud "BOI-OI-OI-OING!" sound can be heard clearly. That one sound sums up this whole movie. I'd love to see McTiernan make a comeback, but after that debacle (and the one-two punch that is Basic), I find it supremely difficult to believe how he ever could.

I know it will never happen as scores were modified and rejected for a reason - usually filmmakers didn’t think they worked in the first place and some right issues also may prevent it. It has happened probably half a dozen times so far. But yeah, I wish it happened way, way, way more.

Since when is the original considered a ' classic'.? It sucks!

Not a classic no. But seminal in the sci-fi genre with a great central character and performance by Caan.
