If you're talking about Mikael Tariverdiev, I mentioned him in these threads a year or so ago. Prominent in the 60s, he eschewed the bloated symphonic sound for a more intimate chamber-like jazz approach, reminding me of Jarre's The Collector or some Legrand or Gainsbourg stuff. There is a 3 CD set available.

That's the cat!

Do you know about King of the Roaring '20s?

That title does not instill confidence! Do they do the Charleston?

There is a source-music Charleston for a speakeasy, but the underscore itself is primarily jazzy.
I'd say this one is jazzier than either Career or Sunset Blvd., but more melancholy than
Crime in the Streets with its passages of plaintive solo cello.

I like all three of those, but "Crime in the Streets" is his masterpiece, and is a prime example of the nervous angular longhair style that is a personal favorite.

Listening to "Images" now. This is right up my alley.

We watched the film a few years ago, also.

I figured you'd get to this one eventually, and approve.

I can say that NOW, of course, after the fact.... smile

Do you have the piano book?

More than seven years after starting the thread, the journey continues.

Now enjoying some John Williams I didn't even know I had: "The Bronze Locust," from TV Omnibus.

It's good, but I don't know if I would put it in my top 10 John Williams.

Then again, I'm not sure I have 10 John Williams.

Just kidding, I probably have about 20 by now.

I agree about "Images" and "The Crash," though. Regarding "Lost in Space," all four episodes would be a tie for me. They are permanently tattooed onto my psyche, from watching too many reruns as a kid.

All LIS episodes are equal, but some are more equal than others:

Will OnyaBirri remember buying La-La's The Time Tunnel?

Onya is allegedly receiving this as a gift, so he does not have it now.

Why is LoungeLaura so tardy?

Make it snappy!

Onya wants to stash Time Tunnel away for 12 months so he could listen to it in 2022.
