Oh, Bruce, get over yourself. You know damned good and well that as soon as the title was sold out you'd be hawking it everywhere you could.

And you still can.

I don't get it .

It says in the liner notes ALL the score is in stereo but End Titles(The Rescue) still sounds like mono. Then it's written the alt End Title is the only surviving stereo recording of the End Titles(and it does sound stereo)

what gives?

Getting The Rescue in stereo was my main reason to buy this .........

With all 14 pages of postings, I've lost track of what is was all REALLY about at this point.

If you click on Edit Preferences (upper left hand side on this page), you can change the number of messages per page that are displayed while you're logged in. Mine is set at 200 (like anyone cares).

i care, Josh.

What I believe these people are most distraught about -- at least in regards to the "misleading" theory -- is how numerous threads have come along on this board since La-La Land announced the CD -- or since the announcement became public, via e-mail, and for which had many people complimenting the effort for getting this out there in "stereo." With this line of belief, there really was no public effort to re-direct their excitement to the fact that the elements were mixed from mono. In re-reading over these initial threads, I can easily understand some people's frustrations here, even if those frustrations were misfiring by way of an unclear, or unfocused, truth. They reacted on instinct, and perhaps it's a label's job to discern people's complaints rather than to threaten violence or even bring the same guns to a fist fight, and having a label encourage a fine line of thought would be more ideal and/or professional. In this case -- I'm sorry -- La-La Land was in fact so entirely vague that they've sort of brought this onto themselves. They tend to word things in a way that is not well-suited to the potential of their success (think Expanded Archival Collection -- ouch; what does that word have the potential in suggesting?). If one looks at the title of their Poseidon page, as another example, it's an automatic instinct to believe what a product's title, in its bland, bold print, may or may not promise the consumer.

THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE (STEREO)

Now, while I clearly know what they are talking about (no thanks to the arguments here), perhaps it's still qualified as a poor judgment or weak business model on the label's end?

James,

you cant be that naive!
LLL knew exactly what they were doing.

And it worked- it sold out.

Without trying to submit myself to that same style of tacky sentiment being expressed throughout this thread, I'd hate to believe that you may be right. This will never be a considerable question, though, since an answer to either direction of thought will be biased. This will need to be let go. I am disappointed that this release has been shadowed by whatever has occurred, or if anything at all was indeed a marketing ploy on La-La Land's part, or just an unfortunate use of vocabulary.

See -- what some people seem confused by is that the anger in this thread is understandable, it's almost necessary in some ways. What doesn't beg for necessity, though, is the choice to express it in the way that some do. I feel the consumer has the right to question or raid against their feelings of frustration, but it can be done much more maturely. After all, how's that phrase go? "Parenting is the hardest job in the world." Well, in this instance, the label is the parent, so if you want to get what you want, kissing ass always worked the best, even if what you want is not for the best.
