Peter,

I don't want you to feel bad that my not being able to go will undoubtedly kill me. Don't feel guilty at all that you are solely responsible for my complete demise. However, enjoy Randy Edelman (or "RE" as I know him through a number of wonderful emails we traded in the spring). He was conducting his music at the prestigious University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music where a coworker of mine's husband serves as Dean. Don't think for a minute that I wouldn't LOVE to personally pay my respects and meet all these heros of mine. smile

Seriously, have a wonderful weekend. You will enjoy RE. He's a ball of energy and passion - a real pistol, as they used to say. I'm sure that I and many others will be with you in spirit. You've gone waaaaay beyond just being a cheerleader. You're a mover and a shaker, truly motivated by the purest of joy in being the hugest fan of film music. We all share in your spirit.

-BEST to you and wish I could be part of it,

-Ned (from Baltimore)

Let me wipe the tears away. My goodness THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. Your note truly touched me. I may not know as much as many others which I know is true, all I know is film music is at the center of my core and I'm beyond thrilled and quite often OVERWHELMED that I'm even doing anything related to film music. Just a few years ago I thought I would never get to meet any of these truly outstanding ladies and gentlemen and here I am. I'm only here because I've had some absolutely phenomenal people stand beside me and help me along my journey. I'm here because so many, I guess, saw a light in me and wanted to keep it burning. I can't even begin to tell you how many scores I have by him. He has this just warm, beautiful style in his writing. Just listened to Leap Year today, MY GOODNESS, gorgeous stuff.

I hope you can get over to the event real soon Ned, would LOVE to meet you and expect a big hug from one fan of film music to another smile

I heard RE was a bit of a pistol and I'm excited to meet him!! Btw, can you send me a private email, peter @fansoffilmmusic.com, remove the SPACE in between the letter R and the @ sign before sending me a note.

Oh my - now I have to burst your bubble!

You and I HAVE met and had a wonderful conversation outside the Genghis Cohen Restaurant in LA. a few years ago. We talked for ages (along with my wife, Rebecca) after that fantastic dinner that Bruce Kimmel hosted following the Morricone Hollywood Bowl no-show.

I hope you're not disappointed I'm not a newbie fan but a vintage one. Hey, but I could always use a big hug. You left such a wonderful impression on us and I have your terrific DVD of the first event. Not surprised at all that you've made an equally wonderful impression on so many others.

-Ned

OH MY GOSH!! You know when I saw your name was Ned I was like, Ned, Ned, how do I know that name. Yes you and you wife were incredibly sweet. My goodness my sincere apologies and please take NO offense of my absent minded ness. NOW the memories are flooding back. Yes the dinner for the canceled Ennio concert.

I'm following my heart and it's been leading me in all sorts of fun and creative directions. I sure hope we can meet up again real soon. As you may know I'm out in LA now so next trip out here, we are going to hang out!!

I hope more post about it, but I think it went great! So many sweet talented people coming together to say thank you to our favorite tunesmiths. Pics and more antidotes will follow hopefully.
