I preordered from Amazon but it says delivery date pending.

Does this mean they’ve received more orders than expected and will fulfill the order after the June 14 deadline?

I ordered mine from Amazon (US) on May 7th, and mine has said the same thing. Just that they 'need a little more time to provide with a good estimate on delivery'. The release date shows as 6-7.

This is pretty standard for a preorder from Amazon. Nothing to worry about.

I RE-preordered from Amazon Canada yesterday along with GoT Season 8 on CD. Also added The man on High Castle for $9 to hit my free shipping limit. That back cover looks great, really looking forward to this. Not expected in Canada now until June 21. The listed price for Sunrise record stores in Canada is $15.99 - spoke with staff and they will be carrying this at all their stores.

Thanks for sharing this!

Who would be in charge of naming the cues? Obviously some of them have different titles than the previous release. Is this Sony renaming this, or did Varese rename theirs? perhaps a bit of both?

I could be blind, as I'm still a bit foggy this morning.. but didn't the VS album also have 'The Protection Grid'? It was the cue when Walter Peck shut off the protection grid and the Firehouse (somewhat) exploded. I didn't see that listed in your comparison..

Also, I'm hoping that the music that plays when the Ghostbusters try to go against Gozer is in here.. "Let's show this prehistoric bitch how we do things downtown!". A version of it is in Marshmallow Terror, but it's not the same as what's heard in the film. Also missing from the VS album (aside from the source music) was the creepy strings that play over certain parts of the film: After Dana opens the fridge and she hears 'Zuul!', After all the ghosts are released and Dana's apartment explodes, and even at the very end of the film when Slimer flies towards the screen.

Also, too bad the cues don't seem to be in order of how they appear in the film, but that's not a huge deal. More of an annoyance.

Ok last edit - but The Stairwell appears to be the film version, which is good to hear.

Didn’t Peter Bernstein work on this project?

What does he have to say about this new mix, remaster and score assembly?

Given the brevity of some cues, is it possible a few were differently recombined as they were intended for the film?

I’m greatly looking forward to getting this!! big grin

Noticed the missing march film mix of the Gozer cue when the guys charge her at the finale is still missing listening to those sound samples mentioned above. That's a bummer. I'm not hopeful the synth stinger note that was missing from the Varese release will be on this one now, either.

My order still says arriving this Friday, but it still has not shipped yet. Anybody have their Amazon order ship yet?

Between still missing material, duplicated material, and tracks left off that were on the VS Club release, I know I'll be skipping this.

I'll wait until Sony let's third parties license from it again and wait for (hopefully) La La Land to get their hands on it, where I'm sure we'll get everything. I'd even love to have the songs (well, I'd be happy with select songs) remastered and included if possible, so I can also chuck the old song album.

And the songs I hope to have:
  • Ray Parker's song.
  • Savin' the Day.
  • Cleanin' Up the Town. (I think I read a longer version is where the excerpts in the film come from)
  • Magic.

    Anything else I don't need.

I remember reading there were a lot of rejected songs for the film. I searched, but I don't think I ever found out who did them.

"The Protection Grid" doesn't seem to be included. I will know tomorrow when my copy arrives. The track "Taken" is also not included. And "Stairwell" on the Sony album the film version. The alternate is on the Varèse Sarabande album.

Mine has shipped but won't arrive until tomorrow. I'm looking forward to reviews.. and still hopeful some of the missing music may be here.
