Is this thread about Doris Mannix, the owner of the 3-headed Chihuahua in Milwaukee, Wisconsin? smile

It can be about all those things you keep trolling this thread with, just as long as the topic remains Mannix, the 1967-75 CBS TV detective series.

Any Mannix thread bumps are welcome.

Could this thread be about Bruce Mannix, the 6-time winner of the swimsuit competition in the Thinly-Disguised Gay Bodybuilder Pageant? smile

She looks cooler than he does.

I dig her early '70s wristwatch and his brown suede jacket.

Did Joe Mannix own his home/office at 17 Paseo Verde? If he rented, his landlord must have been the most forgiving or most spineless guy in L.A! As often as Joe's place was blown up, riddled full of bullets, and the location of a murder, Joe should have been given the boot long ago.

On what must be my tenth re-watch, Mannix season 7 has a number of "Mannix as Human Target" episodes. Among the first eight shows, Joe is pursued by villains in four of them, including three episodes in a row:

Climb a Deadly Mountain
The Gang's All Here
Desert Run
Silent Target aka "Whorehouse for Assassins"

MANNIX TOS? As opposed to Mannix: The Next Generation? Or Mannix: The Movie?

I was remake proofing the thread against any contemporary versions that may appear.

Some things never change. While I have not had cable/satellite/Netflix, et al., since January 2012, I recently learned that MANNIX airs on US channel METV weeknights at 2am, which is the same timeslot I first discovered MANNIX on a local station back in the summer of 1985.

The S7 two-part episode "Race Against Time", in which Joe jouneys to a fictional Third-World country with an arrogant doctor (John Colicos) who must perform a life-saving operation, must be a leftover Mission: Impossible script repurposed for Mannix.

I rated it a 7/10 because Joe is well out of his element here, which IMO only adds to the plot's tension. One rating point deducted for the episode not including even one scene with Peggy (Gail Fisher).

Future Magnum, P.I. actor Larry Manetti appears in a brief role.

I first discovered MANNIX in the late Seventies.

Agreed all the way. It's directed by Paul Krasny, former film editor and director on MISSION.

KOREAN WAR NOTES
In “Race Against Time, Part 1”, government head Hank Pritchard mentions Mannix’s war background in front of wounded Mr. Cramer lying like a mummy in a hospital bed. In “Race Against Time, Part 2”, dying Victor Lucas mentions to Mannix the old days: “Joe… as you well remember from our Korean days, a helicopter can land almost anywhere.”

I didn't catch that reference when I watched. Good catch.

A Milton Metz on-set interview with Mike Connors that looks to be circa 1972-73 (S6 of Mannix).

Also from 1973, Beg, Borrow.., or Steal, a TV movie that Mike "Mannix" Connors managed to squeeze into his busy Mannix-years schedule. Mike's co-stars include "Special Guest Star" Michael Cole, and Wooden Kent McCord. The three play variously physically bereft roomates who plan a museum heist.

Music by Richard Markowiz. Dig his fairly cool main theme.
