But we can probably watch only a couple of episodes per week, so we will have to go slow for me to take part.
That's fine by me. It'll most likely just be the two of us anyway. I'm trying to figure out a template of how to write each entry or maybe I'll just provide a synopsis followed by my scattered thoughts about each show.
Was looking through some old FSM threads from 2009 where I was so enthusiastic towards the show. I got rid of cable in January 2012 so I've missed those seasons of Mad Men. I'm looking forward to seeing them. So far I just have seasons one through three on DVD. I'll most likely begin the "Mad Men Re-Watch Thread" sometime next week. Looking forward to your thoughts on the show, given your interest in the series as well as the era in which it takes place.
Of course any and all interested parties are warmly welcomed in that upcoming thread.
I was no more than an occasional watcher but let me tell you that send-off with Bobby Morse giving it the old J. Pierpont Finch was beyond brilliant. Oh was it ever!
Hey Mr. Phelps, congratulations on your first lock-out! I'm trying but even I can't kill the Williams/Lawn thread. Multiple posts. Not a good sign. Must be losing my touch.
Sun Ra for Josh. Bill Evans for Jim Phelps. Fred Steiner's train layout for Graham.
Any others?
You still "owe" me some Gabor Zsabo discussion, even if it was a tangent on the otherwise brilliant "Alex North Drops Acid and Time Travels to 1966" thread (my pick for 2017 FSM Thread of the Year).
I petered out on my Monkees thread; not for any lack of love, but just because nothing new had come up. However, in a few days, I'll make a posting when the next Deluxe Edition is released.
The less said about my Beatles thread, the better...
Speaking of phony Beatlemania, the Monty Dave-authored-and-quickly-abandoned "Rubber Soul-- The Beatles Best Album" thread. It would have had the lifespan of a wet Kleenex had a few of us noble (rubber) souls not taken an interest long after the topic had sputtered and nearly died. Special thanks to those who kept that topic afloat.
...that had been resurrected recently after I had killed it in 2011, so I give a reread and note that I posted 2 links to related threads--that I had killed in 2001 and 2002. A trifecta! That does it, am going over to your Beatles thread and give it a proper burial.
