A wonderful but short score. There are plenty of Myers scores this could be paired with. The Boost--also short--features a catchy theme and John Williams on guitar.
Then there are the lps that never made it to cd: No Way To Treat a Lady, Ulysses, Otley, Take a Girl Like You, The Raging Moon, Prick Up Your Ears.
Bruce, i am very glad to hear that you're a Myers fan. He's very underrated. When his name pops up most people either link him to "Cavatina" or as a Zimmer-footnote (dear Lord). But there's so much more. No Way To Treat a Lady--that Main Title and The Miller of Dee are incredibly haunting and deserved a better movie. Best of all, is The Raging Moon, only issued in England on EMI on lp. I've still the copy I bought at some department store on a London visit in 1971. I was a kid, into great soundtracks even then. Otley is very imaginative and witty. Oh, I could go on. I guess, though, that prospects are dim for future Myers releases.

Sadly, no one cares. The Raging Moon is a favorite, but the one I'd kill to do is Night of the Following Day.
Yeah, Night of the Following Day is unnerving--film and score. Perhaps if Myers had scored some action films or comic book films he'd have more support in this community. I'm glad, though, that some posters keep bringing up Witches, however.
One thing Myers has that most great film composers don't have and that's a piece that will be forever played by classical guitarists. A bonafide standard that will outlast the movie it was sued in.
There is a 2 CD-R of sessions that appeared this year, so I assume there was score dropped and probably some alternates to be had. I say this not to promote a boot, but rather that apparently there are tapes out there as this new edition has surfaced, and that there might be more score.
So, some hope for fans of the score.
Where can these CD-R be found? I've been searching for over a year.
What a great (and great-sounding) suite. This is most certainly sourced from the recently (?) unearthed sessions that are apparently going around. My guess is that this one will find an official release at some point soon.
