Boring as usual. Just trying to stay indoors and out of the warm weather as much as possible. Have a concert to go to next month, but otherwise, no other plans. I do most of my vacationing in the Fall and Spring when crowds are less and the weather is nicer.

Just arrived in Paris, watching lightning flicker around the Eiffel Tower which is lit up in a beautiful deep blue light.

I get 28 days to take each year from work. We always leave the UK when we are off (my good lady and I). So far this year, we've done some four day weekends in Iceland, Poland and Spain, plus 7 days in Cyprus (with my Mum for her 80th) and 11 days in mainland Spain, from which we got back last Wednesday. Carole is already looking for something in August (the Bank Holiday) and October and November, when we have a week off in each. I usually show an interest and get involved if it's USA or Canada, otherwise I let her play and book to her hearts content. I like my holidays.

Boohoo, it's coming to an end. I've just spent some days at our other summer place, a small island we own outside the Southern coast of Norway. Now I'm heading back to Oslo to start work on Monday. I'm almost 5 kilos heavier after weeks of heavy eating and drinking...now it's time to work it all off. frown

My Paris trip is also coming to an end.

Paris is expensive, pretty, and hot. Like the women.

I just had a week off, but I took two more days, so I have time off until saturday... smile

Not much going on at retail at the moment. Everybody else is on vacation and we mostly are just standing around in the store...

How heavy/tall are you, Thor?

Personally I'm 83 kilos, and 1.79 tall. Need to take off a few kilos, me too...

I'm about 1.85 tall and 82 kilos at the present time. While that may sound rather normal, the numbers lie a bit. My build is very slim, and I currently have too much around the waist for someone with my build. So you could say my goal isn't really to lose that many kilos, but rather to convert the fat to muscles; to "trim" the body. I think 80 is a pretty good match weight for me.

I've not been very active here lately.

That's because I've been enoying my summer holiday at our summer house in Denmark.

Has to travel to an entirely different country to get to the summer house. Poor Thoor. smile

Indeed. Been missing the summer house in Denmark intensely for a year now, and I don't think I will be able to go there this summer due to the pandemic (I'm still waiting for my vaccine, dammit!). Fortunately, I have an alternative in the island that our family owns downsouth. Will probably spend a few days there instead.

Looking back at the original 2008 post of this thread, I'm struck by nostalgia. Was so carefree back then; little did 2008 Thor know about the challenges ahead over the next decade plus.

No jab yet, that's a bit shocking.

...& knowing the future really would be a curse.

No holiday for me, but being retired, life is one long holiday. I'm really not bothered about going abroad again, I find traveling such a drag now & there's so much of England I haven't seen. Maybe I'll drive down to Cornwall next month.

A private island????

Then why bother going down there? Just have the island airlifted to your front door! big grin

Every day is a holiday when you are retired.

And every day is Ennio day.

Or a stelvio day.

Or a Bruno morning.

Sometimes a Ron or Roy afternoon.

This last week its been a JW lunch, with a Stelvio for breakfast.

Its good t' be da king! big grin

Yes, I have been on permanent holiday since I retired in the summer of 2017.

But I often need a holiday away from retirement...if any of you know what I mean!
