Andor is written and produced by Tony Gilroy, the guy who directed the brilliant Michael Clayton. This is a well written show that is slow cook thing, which is fine. Andor is what most Star Wars is not, which is why the metrics are terrible. No light sabors, no space ship dog fights, no jedi, no force. Sounds like it could be a good series, but it doesn’t sound like Star Wars. Well... if you did the same thing over and over again, people would take it to task for doing exactly that. Which they already did with The Force Awakens. And the lesser Rise Of Skywalker. So I say throw out those considerations and just tell a damn good story. Sounds like Gilroy is endeavouring to do that. You don't need to strip an IP of its identify in order to do something interesting. TFA and ROS weren't bad because there were force themes and light saber fights, but because they weren't done well. This is my biggest critique of Nu Star Trek and now TROP. Both betraying the essence of the IP. That said I may check out this series, I'm starving for a good sci fi series regardless what its called.
