Why bother calling it the Man From U.N.C.L.E then? The TV show was ripe for updating but that IP has now been tarnished for years because of Ritchie’s charmless, unconnected effort.
And if they remade King Kong but it substituted a small kitten in place of a giant gorilla would you say critics of that decision were “too stuck in the past”?

You need to find an analogy that has a better chance of happening if you want me to answer your question.

Actually, the analogy is spot on.
"Chance of happening" is irrelevant.

On UNCLE, having not seen Cavill's UNCLE film, allow me to speak from a position of authority...

smile

... I have no idea.

I've heard good things about the film.

Ritchie’s U.N.C.L.E. Movie had zero resemblance to the TV show and wasn’t helped by the two leads who appear to have gone through a charisma and talent by-pass.

Fortunately the movie flopped so there isn’t too much chance of us being inflicted with a sequel.

Cavill and Hammer have plenty of charisma and talent.

And who cares if it bore zero resemblance to the TV show. Why are you so stuck on the past?

I’m really not that interested in your answer to be honest.

So why did you ask the question in the first place?
