Now the interesting thing is that just about all the withdrawn albums remain available for streaming and purchase, though I can no longer access them as "purchased". WTF? I really wonder what is going on? I mean, I could understand if they were withdrawn, but they are obviously not, still available. I just cannot re-download them anymore, and they are not accessible as "purchased" in my Qobuz App, though I can just regularly stream them.

Qobuz said I was going to lose access to one album and instead it was five. (I have about 150 album purchases from them.) It looks like the ones that were removed also had record label changes as corporate shenanigans move the recordings around in their big shell game of various LLCs and whatever. The two soundtrack ones that went missing were the high-res Obsession from 2021 and Nic Raine's re-recording of Lion in Winter. Obsession is still available for purchase, but at CD quality. Lion in Winter is also still available, though it looks like the label has changed from Silva Screen Records to Universal/Decca. I already back up my entire music collection off site, but it is nice having the option of downloading them again, just it in case. Qobuz isn't the only online download site doing this now, I've also had purchases from 7-Digital quietly go missing (and sometimes return) in the past.

Certainly I can see a licence changing and an album being streamable and not downloadable. There's no way they aren't separate licences. I'm sure they are separate licenses, though so far in all but one case, I find that the albums I purchased remain available for both purchase and streaming.

Physical media baby! (and no password required) Yes, but it's just that nobody wants to release them today (does not concern the cretinous and temporary fashion for vinyls).
