Since the music used for the end credits is only score, I was wondering if the music heard is an unreleased suite or if it was re-used score.

It seemed to be an edited suite of other cues in the movie and not a specifically composed end credit cue. But if so, it is a very well done edit . Most of these edited end title suites feel clunky, they feel like cues just placed together and don't really have that feeling of actual end title tracks, suites that sum up the picture and give a feeling of finality.

Does anyone recall if there's a reprise of 10cc's "I'm Not in Love" later in the film? Maybe briefly during a scene with Quill and Gamora before the big battle? I seem to remember that being the case.

I'm trying to arrange a chronological CD-length playlist of the songs and score and prefer the album taking off more immediately with "To the Stars," "Marvel Studios Fanfare," "Morag," and "Come and Get Your Love." Right now I have "I'm Not in Love" positioned between "We All Got Dead People" and "Cherry Bomb" and it plays really well there. Anyone know if this is true to the film?

I don't recall there being any brief reprises of pop songs in the movie.

Of course, it's your edit - you can always make some adjustments to the track list for listenability. smile

Neither do I.

Thanks for the feedback. I must have misremembered or imagined that. And you're right, I probably will overcome my slavish devotion to film order just this once and leave "I'm Not in Love" where I have it.

This list ( http://www.ranker.com/list/best-superhero-movie-soundtracks/ranker-comics/?utm_source=promotion&utm_medium=promotion&utm_term=guardians&utm_content=promotion&utm_campaign=Lucas ) has the Guardians soundtrack as among the best in movies.

Did anybody else notice how it was a different version of the fanfare than we've heard before. The brass was playing in a higher key. Maybe they re-recorded it or did a bunch of versions to begin with.

It is indeed a different version than the one on previous Marvel films (and on the Thor 2 CD). Higher pitch, I like it.

Perhaps a version performed by Tyler Bates (and his orchestra), specifically for this film? It would be nice to have a version of that for this proposed 'ultimate track list'.

Eeeeeeeek.

The top 5 are all song soundtracks. Then you get all the Batman and X Men soundtracks filling out the top 15.

As much as I love the Guardians Mix Tape album, that list is seriously flawed big grin

Apologies for the thread necro. I specifically just joined this board to ask if anyone has figured out the new movie yet? Haha

I've got most of it down (saw it three times opening weekend), but am still having issues figuring out where some of the tracks go.

I don't know if this board has Spoiler tags, and I would feel completely awful if I ruined anything for anyone, so SPOILER WARNING.

Okay?

Everyone who's not seen it yet gone?

Here we go...(Awesome Mix in quotes)

"Fox on the Run" (trailer only)
Phase 3 Marvel Studios Fanfare (debuted with Doctor Strange)
"Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)"
Showtime, A-holes
"Mr. Blue Sky"
vs. The Abilisk
"Lake Shore Drive"
Space Chase
"Un Deye Gon Hayd (The Unloved Song)" (by Jimmy Urine of Mindless Self Indulgence [also plays Ravager "Halfnut"] which I can't find for purchase or download or rip or anything anywhere)
Starhawk
"The Chain"
The Mantis Touch
"My Sweet Lord"
Family History
"Southern Nights"
"Bring It On Home to Me"
Groot Expectations
"Come a Little Bit Closer"
Mammalian Bodies
("Brandy" again...or after "I Know Who You Are"...it's before "The Expansion", I know that)
I Know Who You Are
The Expansion
Two-Time-Galaxy Savers
"Wham Bam Shang-a-Lang"
Kraglin and Drax
("The Chain" again)
Guardians of the Frickin' Galaxy
"Father and Son"
"Surrender"
"Flash Light"
"Guardians Inferno"

The ones I can't figure out placement are "Sisters" (I figure after Yondu's eulogy), "Mary Poppins and the Rat", "Ego", "Gods", "Dad", and "A Total Hasselhoff".

I'm going to keep going to see it in theaters, and try to figure out some of the missing ones, but if anyone has a better ear than I and already has it figured out, that'd be super helpful.

But I found this thread a few years ago, and it helped me figure out where "The Great Companion" went in the first movie's score, as I couldn't find it in the movie (I can hear it now, but it's still tough to make out due to dialogue over it).

Also, has anyone figured out which pieces play over the end credits of the first movie between "I Want You Back" and the Howard the Duck scene? I know it's parts of some of the score from during the movie, it just all runs together, so I can't tell which tracks they're from.
