The WWC (as opposed to the CWC in the Pavilion thread) has been pretty entertaining. Cameroon were a bit nasty and it was rough that two VAR decisions narrowly went against them, but there was no excuse for what went on other than weak management.

Leeds have apparently been linked with Buffon due to his friendship with our owner, but that was knocked on the head before I even got to hear about it. Apparently there's also an idea that we might sell Jack Clarke to Spurs but loan him back for the season. Better than losing him altogether.

First day back in training today for the boys, apparently.

I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't the last word. How much more valuable is NUFC with Rafa in charge, rather than, say, Garry Monk?

That's what makes it worse for the fans. They're going from a top class manager to Pardew, Pulis, Hughes... someone like that.

Sad news that the San Siro is to be demolished and a new stadium built on the same site. Always thought it was one of the great iconic stadiums in football, would have loved to see a game there.

Who else would work for ashley than a desperate wanker who cant get a big gig anyway. Hasnt pardieu already worked there?

Watching spain v usa wimmins football. Despite the bbc push and over promotion and the widespread con of brushing aside the standard for political correctness, nobody is saying what every bloke is thinking.
It's shit...isnt it? Come on, nice that they wanna play but dont ask us to watch this sunday morning standard football, let alone force feed it on prime tv.

Two passes and they lose the ball. Every bit of trickery hardly ever comes off. Keepers shy away from crosses like they have seen a mouse. Anomalies like cameroon eng was entertaining because it was mental brutal and crazy.
Im reminded of that phrase from the great John Vernon in Outlaw josey wales. "Dont piss in my tent and tell me its raining!"

It's garbage, terrible to watch. Even more shit is Women's Cricket, with Sky Sports now pushing the upcoming women's ashes series as if anybody is remotely interested in it!

I can just about tolerate the tennis, especially if Maria or Caroline are playingwink

Anna K was my fave. Film star, that one. Shit tennis player who won nothing but earned more modelling i think!

Clear penalty to USA in their game somehow not even referred to var as ref obviously missed it. It's a clear pen too. Another match with five then seven minutes of injury time.

Hope Solo also refused to condemn Cameroon behaviour yesterday, said the way she sees it is they were passionate people. Talk about patronizing and wrong. And of course no one bothered correcting her.

Fuckwit and Former United States goalkeeper Hope Solo on BBC Radio 5 Live

This Cameroon team, they don't have the resources. They don't have the quality coaching in their country, they don't have the experience like England or somebody like Phil Neville.

So your heart has to go out a little bit to this Cameroon side. They played with emotions and brought this emotion to the tournament.

As much as we want to see a little bit more class from Cameroon, they did bring that beautiful emotion and packed this entire stadium.

You have to look at it both ways.

The media were quick to bash the US team for their garish goal-scoring celebrations in the 13-0 destruction of Thailand, but that same media are quick to defend the childish displays of the Cameroonian(?) team.

Phil Neville perfectly expressed his disgust and in a most gentlemanly manner.

I can't stand the US women's team. I'm rooting for England and their hottie extraordinaire, Alex Greenwood.

If I'm honest, I am enjoying the Women's World Cup, while there's nowt else on during the mid season.
Quality wise, it's on a par with a Scottish Cup or league game wink
Some of the play can be quite good, but alas, can quickly dissolve into really sloppy amateur standard.
And after years of having to endure the missus choosing her winner of games based on their nice legs or nice bums, it's been fun having some payback smile

My husband and I are enjoying the Women's World Cup. We were supporting the Canadian team, but sadly they lost. Of course, we are supporting our U.S. team and yelling for the British Women's team.

England, thank you very much, not Britain. It’s the world cup, not the Olympics! smile

Although i live in Canada, I have Swedish family friends, so was okay with them winning. it was a well contested match, i thought.

Joanie you and your hubbie should watch some proper football, not this ladies tosh! wink
And choose a side in england and then you can post in here. Most of the time, its an oasis. We have one dipstick who is on ignore by everyone in here yet he still posts. But enough about TG! smile
Apart from the two liverpool lads - thomas and kev - who won the champs league and came 2nd - everyone else supports a team that puts them thru the emotional mill.

I don't think anyone will in North America! I'll be in the dark as you, Joan.
