So with a new-style line-up, we are in danger of winning one?! If ever there was a stone banker bet it was a 3-0 whitewash. Bookies must be laughing!

Afghanistan recently played, and won, their debut Test, against Ireland. Ireland batted first and promptly collapsed to 85/9, but a cracking last wicket partnership between Dockrell and Murtagh took them to 172 all out, Murtagh making his debut half century. Murtagh is the second-oldest No. 11 to score a Test fifty, beaten by Pat Symcox by a couple of months. Like their football team, the Irish never know when they're beaten! Alas, it wasn't enough, as Afghanistan won by seven wickets, but it's nice to see some fight and I doubt Ireland will be pushovers come the summer.
