As soon as I read the interview, I contacted John M. We were long overdue for a catch-up chat (he's conducting - in costume - in my avatar image!). He hadn't heard about the La-La Land release so I sent him a copy. I also conveyed this to JW's assistants and urged JM to contact them about it, so hopefully an A.I. concert suite will be forthcoming!

Very cool, I should have mentioned this last month when I first read it, a concert would be great!
I need to clarify, John, that it was when I read Mauceri's interview on August 25 that I contacted him and sent him the A.I. CD, not after reading the board post. Sorry if that bursts any bubbles. I am glad you posted his bit about the score here, though; I just thought I would share what had transpired. His new CD is fantastic, by the way.
Not to derail the thread, but I can't really make out Mauceri in costume in Mike M.'s avatar, so I looked for a bigger image - found this sweet photo with Goldsmith himself.
Let's get back on track with a photo of Mauceri with John Williams, and, inevitably, Garth Brooks.
What should be his costume when he conducts A. I.?
Does anyone know who provided the vocals for "The Biker Hounds (extension)"? It was interesting to notice that the phrase heard at 4:23, 6:25, and 6:42 in this song reappeared in Spielberg's film; perhaps it may be the same singer
You've likely stumbled on the temp track for "Joe's Biker Cue," which refers to Joe the Williams, not the Gigolo. It's not the exact same vocal, but obviously they went for a similar sound and I believe in A.i. it's Joe Williams' voice on the track.

Weird that a piece of music with a techno/late 90s vibe would be used as a temp track for the biker scene. Thanks for the tidbit, Mike! Wish that Joe's helicopter cue could also be released someday
That vocal sample was also used by David Newman in the first track of his score for 'The Phantom'. Although slowed down significantly.
I've also heard that vocal line used in episodes of Batman Begins and Spawn, and also on one of the tracks (I can't remember which) on the Mark Snow promo CD The Snow Files. I've always wondered where it originated...
