Weird. Jelly Babies are great, though I haven't had them in quite a while. Haribo do indeed feel like they are for the kiddie market, and have that cut-price/bargain shop (i.e. Poundland) quality. I can enjoy them though. I guess I grew up with Jelly Babies, whereas Haribo are a very late in life experience... Used to have a dear friend who since passed away, who worked as a maintenance engineer for Bassetts, which was taken over by Cadburys, and we used to get tons of sweets brought to the pub from the factory shop dirt cheap which he passed on to us regulars. I remember when he said they were about to be taken over by Kraft. I jokingly said "what next, chocolate cheese?". Very shortly after they brought out chocolate Philadelphia!

Don't tell Tall Guy, but I've grown quite fond of the Yorkie chocolate bar. The Euro Kit Kat is another big favorite, the dark chocolate version, that is. And of course the Curly Wurly is another treasured chocolate, even in its allegedly diminished state, and is the closest thing to the long-defunct Marathon bar, which was truly too good to last--I'm thinking of starting a religion around it. While I do love a bit of chocolate now and again, especially European brands, I find myself more interested in savory snacks like cheese, which is fast becoming a new obsession.

Galaxy chocolate has a nice slight caramel-ish taste that I like but there's no doubt that Cadburys has a classic taste. Much more chocolate-y. Maltesers are my wife's favourite and I prefer to let them dissolve in the mouth for maximum malty taste. Last night whilst at my daughters we had a go at some new Malteser biscuit bars. Now the same thing occurred to me as when I eat the Malteser chocolates that come in Celebrations. There's just not enough malty centre to rise above the general sweetness of the chocolate. Last night's malt was mixed in with the biscuit and was completely lost.

Never tried Milka. Toblerone is nice, but the bits of nougat get on my nerves a little. Have to let it dissolve in the mouth.
