Review of the Blu-Ray 4K release -

The mix exhibits a rich and velvety tonal quality that particularly benefits both Hans Zimmer’s score and the opening title track by Billie Eilish.

"The film starts with a genuinely creepy pre-credit sequence, which—for the first time ever—isn’t actually from Bond’s perspective."

Someone skipped over From Russia With Love, Live and Let Die and The Man With the Golden Gun...

And You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, The Spy Who Loved Me, and Moonraker, technically!

Like NTTD, the first scene in each of those doesn't feature Bond.

But this is the first time since the 60s and 70s (when it was happening more often than not).

Not sure I follow, Bond is in the opening pre-credits teaser scenes of all of those films.

Yes, eventually. But not in the first scene, like with NTTD.

YOLT: capsules in space
OHMSS: M and Q talking
TSWLM: attack on submarine
MR: shuttle theft

Bill Hunt makes it sound like Bond isn't in any of the 20 minute pre-credits sequence. It's a comment which should have been left out altogether.

Ah, you mean the brief scenes before the action teasers with Bond, I see. I thought you meant Bond didn't appear before the credits.

Splitting hairs, I know, haha. But as Scott says, it was a strange claim for the reviewer to make in the first place.

A HUGE new interview with Barbara Broccoli from "The Hollywood Reporter" :

- no spin-off's
- no female Bond
- Bond will be back
- still full creative control after Amazon's deal

I mentioned it on the Digital Bits Facebook page and he very nicely edited the review.

I would love to know if the Atmos mix would be available in forms other than streaming.

I hate this film. What a pretentious piece of drivel. It`s all about Craig going off on something "special". It packs too much into one film. What is good about it is just....well...blah. Ana, Cuba fight, music, even the gun barrel. Why do they mess with the gun barrel? Would they change the Star Wars yellow roll text?

Stunningly enough, some of us in this thread enjoyed the film, or even loved it. smile

I saw it three times on the IMAX at Universal CityWalk and have the UHD Blu-Ray, which comes out the week after next, preordered. smile

I enjoyed the movie but I agree they tried to packed too much into one film, specifically the tone is all over the place. However, what is it so pretentious about this film? It is just another film. And they did change the gun barrel sequence? What has been changed exactly? And yes, they can change the Star Wars yellow roll text. Times change, creative visions change. Nothing needs to stay the same forever.
