Number 23 looks incredibly familiar. Maybe a regular on Dean Martin's show or Ed Sullivan as a comedian? I thought of a first name of perhaps "Jerry" but then nada. Very frustrating as I know I know him!

I did a little digging and found the original TV Guide ad from 1975. Only a few of the listed guest stars are unaccounted for, but none of them is number 23. The cast list at IMDB shows only these same names plus two or three dancers. Number 23 is too old to be a dancer, plus he's obviously "somebody." The only Jerry listed is writer Jerry Mayer, who wrote this and five other Mitzi Gaynor specials in the 1970's. That seemed like a real possibility, but his photo doesn't match the guy in the video.
I bow to your knowledge gents. How I didn't recognise Bob Hope, I don't know!
Don't feel too bad. Apparently, no one else did either. It's more likely of course that everyone thought the number was over after Strother Martin and didn't bother to watch the last few seconds with Bob Hope's appearance. It's a shame, as it's the highlight of the entire number. I'm not sure if it's hilarious or icky. Maybe a bit of both?
I tried and tried to post the TV Guide ad but somehow couldn't get it to work. I loathe clickbait links, but this is the best I can manage:
Here are the other guest stars who do not appear in that musical number:
Steve Allen Bob Crane James Farentino Monty Hall Allen Ludden Ross Martin Leonard Nimoy
Interestingly, only Ed Asner and Jerry Lester are not listed in the TV Guide ad.
Who from this group is still around, offhand? Mitzi is, and Shatner, Monte Markham and Peter Marshall, but the rest?
Sadly, you named all but three of them.
Mitzi Gaynor, age 92 James MacKrell, age 86 Monte Markham, age 88 Clifton Davis, age 78 Rich Little, age 85 Peter Marshall turned 98 two weeks ago William Shatner turned 93 three weeks ago
Several of the men died within the last decade. Lyle Waggoner died in 2020. Ed Asner and Gavin MacLeod died in 2021.
