Well, in the 3rd Season episode WINK OF AN EYE one scene starts with the Shat finishing putting on his boots as a lovely barely dressed alien female guest star looks into a mirror combing her hair. Then suddenly another alien rushes into the room, this time a male, strangely wearing a truly effeminate silver costume with fruity silver neckband. He's all upset and almost at the point of tears and attacks the Shat with a chair.

Kirk stands there with this look on his face, like "Yeah, I did your lady. Oh okay, you're gonna hit me with a chair now?"

Pretty funny stuff.

Having trouble posting photos, but at this link you'll see the guy that wants to mess up Kirk for having Whoopee with his gal.

Kirk ought to hit him with the chair or better, the costume designer for putting him that silly get up.

I wonder if it was the same costume designer that put those Body Guards to ELAAN OF TROYIUS in those wacky rubbery plastic Table Setting Mats they wore? I guess you have to commend the guy for bringing the wardrobe costs under budget for the show.

Im always reminded of eddie murphy's standup when you bring up Kirk zoob.

"....Anybody got cable? I’ve been watching a lot of cable lately. Only good TV show now is Star Trek. That’s some good shit! I like Captain Kirk, ‘cos Captain Kirk will f*** anybody! I’ve seen him beamed down on a planet....ever seen that one when he’s f***** this green bitch? You gotta be a horny mother***** to f*** a green bitch...!"

Loved the old days when comedians like Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor and others could get away with that type of material, cause it was just plain funny, not for kids, but for grown ups who could take a joke and the language. Hope you're doing well Bill!

Funny thing about Eddie Murphy, I think he would not mind if "Raw" had never existed.
That's the one thing that I believe causes him to squirm the most now.

I liked DELIRIOUS his First Stand-up film (in which the clip posted is from), better than RAW his Second. But it was all good in my book.

They are both still hilarious for me, but I always felt that "Raw" had a slightly meaner and more cynical edge to it.
I would presume that was because by that stage of his career, Murphy had had a real taste of the dark side of his fame, and it couldn't help but be reflected in his material.

I agree guys. Interestingly Raw seems to be more available, or at least screened, whereas Delirious ive rarely seen on tv. Sky certainly showed Raw fairly regularly but ive never seen delirious, maybe once.

I had the vids in the 80s and cassettes in the car and could probably recite most of it at one time, it was so good it was pythonesque quotable! At office chrismas parties my boss reckoned my version of eddie's dad's drunken cookhouse diatribe on Uncle Gus and his wife was funnier than Murphy's version. I doubt that but i had a go when pushed!

I watched Delirious at home with a few mates and when it got to "GI joe up his arse" my mum came to investigate the roaring noise because we were all rolling around on the floor with tears needing oxygen!

Murphy crammed so much in about life in those two shows. Scarily accurate about men n women especially. I am often reminded of that thing where he says "You'll go into work and f*** up my jokes.", and described workmates not laughing and going sarcastically "Yeah thats some funny shit" - so true. Timing and delivery and style and wording is what makes 80% of it.

Actually, Zoob, Kirk defended himself with the chair. Rael attacks Kirk with a metal instrument.

I like the way Kirk throws the pillow in his face.

Notice how the film slows down just a second before the commercial break. (sloppy editing?)

McCoy: Spock, what's wrong?
Spock: For one ten-thousandth of a second, it seemed I detected the odor of cigarettes. Interesting.

The fight with the pillow was one that author Dayton Ward told me he thought about including in his new book, the Kirk Fu Manual. Here's my interview with him.

And here's a link to the book. I found it a delight to read.

I think Wink of an Eye is the only clear-cut demonstration of a post-coital Kirk on the original show.

Though you could argue that Kirk and his Thrall trainer Shanna could have found time to get down to it during a commercial break in The Gamesters of Triskileon.

Wasn't there also some shot In "Mirror, Mirror" that sort of showed the same thing?
I might be mis-remembering.

All I have to say on this subject is Star Trek is a classic.

60s sf tv series.

Therefore there's only one captain, and that's Kirk. I accept no substitutes.

But my dad who has been gone since 2005 used to say in the 70s when we all watched it together: "he's got a girl in every port. He always ends up snoggin' 'em."

Well, Roddenberry did base the hole damn thing on the navy didn't he?

Wasnt there a silver-clad vixen with a whip (maybe with green or purple hair) who "owned" kirk once, like a slave? From memory she went from borderline whipping dominatrix to eventually snogging him and turning into lovestruck puppy, thus changing the whole women over men power/equilibrium of the planet? Or did i just make that up? big grin

It wasn't until I was well into my adulthood and was watching a rerun (of course) of that episode (not one of my favs as a kid, but became more interested as an adult for obvious reasons) when I saw the "boot" scene and a huge light bulb went off over my head when I realized what it meant and I was like.."WOW, on a 60's TV show!
