I am posting this thread because the intense interest in THE AVENGERS has rekindled interest in Silvestri's superb score for CA; THE FIRST AVENGER. the ALBUM: many here have expressed diff; iculty getting 'into' this score as presented on cd. My carefully sequenced 40+ minute 'album' program* should help you better experience this exciting score: 6,2,4,5,8,9,10,13,14,16,18,22,23,25 [if you have the ITUNES only download and want to make a cd-r ,substitute it for track 25] http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?forumID=1&pageID=16&threadID=80783&archive=0 the MARCH: Many have complained about the absence of the end title march on the soundtrack cd. It has been erroneously claimed that this is the ONLY track that contains a complete statement of the CA theme. There are at least 2-3 cues which render a full statement of the theme. I suspect that Silvestri intentionally left this off the cd because it does not STYLISTICALLY fit in with the rest of his score. Silvestri wrote a MODERN score for a retro character. tHE END TITLE IS DELIBERATELY OLD-FASHIONED. In fact if you listen closely it is obvious that it is intended as a tribute/homage/parody to John Williams SUPERMAN/INDY style! Check out the rising and falling scaler patterns played on the flutes/oboes- this is right out of the "March from Superman' "b"section. (as is the the descending 4 note bass line and thundering coda) 'nuff said bruce ps if y'all want a score with memorable themes go out and get WHITE FANG, dammitt! *patent pending

I haven't heard the march since I only have the CD, but I'm curious about your 40-minute version. What does your track order look like? see above

The end title version of Silvestri's theme is just about the most perfect piece of "psuedo-Williams" I've heard, next to Edward Shearmur's great SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW

The End Title March was not included on the album because it was recorded late in a pick-up sessiom, after the album had already been locked. Source: Interview with Alan Silvestri in the latest FSM Online

The End Title March was not included on the album because it was recorded late in a pick-up sessiom, after the album had already been locked. Source: Interview with Alan Silvestri in the latest FSM Online It is mos def a 'novelty' tune specifically composed to match the retro end title graphics! The rest of the score is not in that style unlike SKY CAPTAIN where the entire score is a Williams take-off bruce

Here is my own personal album edit which runs at 46:45 including CAPTAIN AMERICA MARCH and I feel is a good balance high lights as well as allowing it not feel too simplistic in chronological order. • 1. Captain America (Main Titles) (0:56) • 4. Farewell to Bucky (2:50) • 6. Training the Supersoldier (1:08) • 7. Schmidt's Story (1:59) • 8. VitaRays (4:25) • 9. Captain America "We Did It" (1:59) • 13. Unauthorized Night Flight (3:13) • 14. Troop Liberation (5:06) • 15. Factory Inferno (5:05) • 16. Triumphant Return (2:16) • 17. Howling Command's Montage (2:16) • 20. Motorcycle Mayhem (3:05) • 21. Invasion (5:09) • 22. Fight on the Flight Deck (3:30) • 23. This is My Choice (3:26) • 24. Passage of Time (1:35) • 25. Captain America (1:08) • 27. Captain America March (2:37) If order is of no importance, it would run as follows: • 27. Captain America March (2:37) • 7. Schmidt's Story (1:59) • 4. Farewell to Bucky (2:50) • 23. This is My Choice (3:26) • 24. Passage of Time (1:35) • 25. Captain America (1:08) • 6. Training the Supersoldier (1:08) • 20. Motorcycle Mayhem (3:05) • 1. Captain America (Main Titles) (0:56) • 8. VitaRays (4:25) • 17. Howling Command's Montage (2:16) • 9. Captain America "We Did It" (1:59) • 13. Unauthorized Night Flight (3:13) • 14. Troop Liberation (5:06) • 21. Invasion (5:09) • 15. Factory Inferno (5:05) • 22. Fight on the Flight Deck (3:30) • 16. Triumphant Return (2:16) If you still wish to make both shorter, remove CAPTAIN AMERICA (1:08) and TRAINING THE SUPERSOLDIER (1:08) and FAREWELL TO BUCKY ( 2:50) but ONLY if you do have THE MARCH.

dp YOU NEED the 'film' version of the main theme - best heard in SUPERSOLDIER- even if you include the March imho it had very different arrangement and is more enjoyable to my ears brm

Looks like the march is included in this vinyl release. https://amzn.to/2Obiuw3 Even back when I was buying LPs I usually stayed away from picture discs. But I kind of want this.
