1. Put me down for Star Trek: TMP and Star Trek: The Final Frontier, please. 2. For favorite sequel, I would have to go with Bride of Frankenstein, which while continuing the scary atmosphere of the original, also adds a delicious dose of humor (especially in the scenes with Ernest Thesiger’s Pretorius) and pathos (the scene with the blind man).

Happy Holidays, Santa Adam!! And thanks, as always, for your very generous holiday tradition. I have most of these titles, but I'd love a shot at the First Blood/Rambo collection. Good stuff there, but for whatever reason, I haven't caught up with them yet. The best sequel, in my mind, is Toy Story 3. Hard to believe an animated movie about talking toys can reduce a grown man to tears, but it did. I love that movie.

Very generous (as usual) Adam. Hope you have a great Christmas. I would like to choose the Horner Double Bill please (ST-II & ST-III). Favourite sequel??? I do like JAWS 2 and BILL & TED 2 (plus countless others, I would guess), but my ABSOLUTE favourite would have to be THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Who knew, a few years later, we would get something easily the equal to the fun and adventure of STAR WARS. And what a score!!! After the beauty of JAWS 2, Williams proved he didn't treat follow-ups lightly, with arguably one of THE greatest scores he's ever written.

1) Interested on #1, #2 and #3. 2) My favorite sequel is GREMLINS 2, THE NEW BATCH. Even though it was a box office failure at the time and people not really got it, it is an extraordinary sequel. Warner Bros really wanted to have a sequel to the original and had no idea how to do it, so they contacted Joe Dante with a lot of options but the filmmaker wasn't interested at all as he already said everything he wanted on the original. But WB offered him "carte blanche" to do whatever he wanted (as long as the title was Gremlins 2) and Dante couldn't reject an offer like this, so he along with Charles Haas as screenwriter, made the most unnecessary sequel of all time, because the whole movie destroys the original. This is a movie autoconscious of its power and as fact, Dante plays with the plot and the characters and creates a strange collage of features in which Leonard Maltin gets attacked for a bad review, the rules are discussed as nonsense and even the gremlins destroys the actual film, and Hulk Hogan save the movie!! This is an insane sequel and it's almost logical that people didn't understand it at the moment of release but I invite you to check it out once again, and take notice of how a film director got the power to do a wild project financed by a major in early 90's. That's pretty remarkable even nowadays when films from big studios play safe, specially sequel times. A very strange film that also showed us how the 90's were gonna be. Also is quite fun and features a fantastic score by Jerry Goldsmith. Thanks so much for the giveaway Adam!!

Classy gesture as always, er.. Santa Adam. I would like to be considered for just 1 the Conan scores please. As the the 70s finished my interest in scores dwindled a tad - but when I saw the original Conan movie with Schwarzenegger perfectly cast, Poledouris's stirring score really stood out and took the movie up several notches. I choose Baz. Sequel fave is probably For a Few Dollars More. So much bigger, better, grander and more stylish than Fistful, keeping the genius combo of Eastwood and Volonte, but adding Lee Van Cleef, and Ennio's music grew with the size of the sequel. Just need an official Malone-tweaked expansion now.

What a generous offering Adam! Please put me down for #1) Conan #2) Jurassic Park and #6) Close Encounters/E.T. As for Sequels, Empires Strikes Back stands out because the impact on me at the time was huge. Didn't realize why it works so well (story and Craft) till years later. I could add more for similar reasons Wrath of Khan, Terminator 2, Lethal Weapon 2. But I would say that my 2nd favorite sequel is Gremlins 2..Because there were no restraints and it was more "Fun". Like the cartoon Joe Dante wanted to make in the Twilight Zone Movie segment without the horror. Thanks again for doing this for the FSM board!

Santa Adam, you are as always a class act and a generous soul. I would be happy to throw my luck into the pot... I would enjoy winning any of the following: #1 - CONAN THE BARBARIAN and CONAN THE DESTROYER by Basil Poledouris (Intrada) #2 - JURASSIC PARK and THE LOST WORLD by John Williams (LLL) #3 - FIRST BLOOD and RAMBO II and RAMBO III by Jerry Goldsmith (Intrada) #6 - CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND and ET THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL by John Williams (LLL) 2) Which is/are your favorite movie sequel(s) and why? (MOVIE...not score) Star Trek III by far. I saw it opening night in 1984 and fell in love with it. I saw it 6 more times in the theater - at a mere 16 years old - and never grow tired of it. The Empire Strikes Back - easily a high point for me in the Star Wars Universe, a brilliant film in all respects. The Godfather Part II - whenever I sit down to watch a few minutes of this, I get drawn in... X2 - probably the last sequel I was obsessed with. It really transcended the super-hero genre to be a genuine good film and the peak of the X-Men franchise. Thanks again for this opportunity, Adam! Good luck everyone!!!

Hi Santa Adam! Most generous as always. I'd be interested in CONAN THE BARBARIAN and CONAN THE DESTROYER by Basil Poledouris. Also STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE and STAR TREK V, and why not CE3K and E.T. too! My favourite sequel? I have a soft spot for DAMIEN OMEN II. It's lambasted - perhaps rightfully so - compared to the first film, but it's hugely enjoyable in its own right. Merry Christmas to all when it comes!

Thank you for your kindness and generosity, Adam. I would be interested in prizes #3 (Rambo collection) and #6 (CE3K & ET) My favorite sequels include ALIENS, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, PADDINGTON 2, and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, but if I had to pick a single favorite sequel, it would be TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY. Why T2? There isn't a wasted moment in the film, there are real stakes in play, the tension rarely subsides and when it does, moments of levity occur. Schwarzenegger's character plays it so well, and, of course, Cameron's visual effects are incredible.

Just a few weeks ago I was actually thinking about Adam, 'cause each year he had been doing these contests and I didn't see him here, so I was starting to wonder if something had happened to him, maybe I had missed something. He's always so generous. I'd like to put myself in the running for #1, #2, and #3. Assuming sequel film means the next film after the first, I have to say that while I enjoy a number of sequel films, there is only one truly good one for me: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. There are many reasons why, but I am not going to go through all of them, but here are some: It's the best original cast prime universe film (in my opinion). It makes the characters more realistic and human than the stolid, stiff crotch-bulge ST: TMP. The new Bridge, new uniforms, all superior. I consider the red uniforms (as much as Shatner and some the cast hated them because of how uncomfortable they were) to be THEE uniforms for the films. When I think 23rd century uniforms, I think these. And the film gives us a sequel to an original series episode, so it's not some new villain. And the dialogue is memorable. I'm sure any fan remembers Kirk mumbling that he must be getting senile, or Khan's line about never forgetting a face (even though Chekov was not in that episode and I think not in the cast yet).

1) Which prize(s) are you interested in? Each prize consists of the two (or three) titles on each listed line. You may put yourself in the running for as many as you wish. Put me down for ET/Close Encounters! 2) Which is/are your favorite movie sequel(s) and why? (MOVIE...not score) Your answer is not limited to the films listed above, of course. Answering this question serves as your entry into my contest and may make for some interesting reading for all who participate and you may inspire others to watch a film they are not familiar with. I'll go with FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE. It really is leaps and bounds above DR. NO. The score, the production design, the pacing, the script. Everything works about 76% better. Plus, Robert Shaw as Red Grant was inspired casting and, of course, Connery had the perfect amount of swagger. Such a good movie, I might rewatch tonight! Thanks Santa Adam!
