(Repeated from another thread on the same topic.) The original 1980 album was excellent but was of course only 30 minutes including the Rachmaninoff, and included different versions of some tracks to the film. The Varese Sarabande album was also excellent, all faithful to the film versions and recorded most of the score. The value of this is it is (I presume, surely must be) the *PREMIERE* release of the full film tracks. Plus, remember there could be alternates. Varese's version of 'Coin' is clearly not the version in the film, something I always noticed, so maybe the track in the film was a revision. Plus, there is a lot of source music in the film, like the jazz music in the car. Remember, when Reeve's character takes off in the car at the start of the film. I don't know the details any more than any of you, but I wouldn't be surprised if this CD surprises us more than we expect to be surprised. Cheers
