It depends what genre you are looking for Moonlit.

We had a thread on non-ennio Italian westerns recommendations.

But theres plenty sword n sandal epics, thrillers n polizio, comedies, lounge, love n drama films, war films, all different, and the various composers, and there are dozens, often did a little of everything but several were known for certain genres more than others.

Many of my favourites have been mentioned ... but how can anyone overlook Nino Rota?

The more I hear of his works ... the more I like.

It's fairly easy to list the Great Italians of film music history, the Morricones and Rotas and all that. But I'm curious if people have any awareness of more contemporary, living Italian film composers?

Some that are worth checking out in that regard include:

Marco Werba
Carlo Siliotto
Dario Marianelli (up to 2011)
Pericle Odierna
Stefano Caprioli

Shout-out also to Antonioni's collaborators, especially Giovanni Fusco and Giorgio Gaslini (although more for how it works in the films than outside).

And Goblin, obviously.

Simonetti x2
Rustichelli

Nora Orlandi

Honorable mention: Les Baxter, whose Bava scores are better than the Italian scores.

There were 2 composers whose first name was Piero.
Piero Piccioni & Piero Umiliani.

Claudio Simonetti + his father Enrico Simonetti.

But moonlit, if you dont tell us what style you are after, or indicate some italian scores that you like, the forum giving you 50 plus names isnt massively helpful.
