What difference is there between these two releases? Tracks? Sound quality?

I own a copy of the Super Tracks, and am wondering if I should get a copy of the La-La Land release.

Thanks for that. Another of those "Temporarily out of stock"... for years titles.

It does not really matter if you have either the Super Tracks or the LaLaLand. Both have the same content (the LaLaLand's extra tracks are just different (album) edits of some cues, not any "new" music. They also both feature very good sound, so there is no need to "upgrade" from the SuperTracks to the LaLaLand. Great score, so good to have the music in one of these two releases, which one is not really important.

Not need for Bootlegs, as the legal releases of KRULL are very good.

Neither the Super Tracks release nor the LaLaLand release were/are actual bootlegs.

I believe you're referring to the Super Tracks release, which was NOT a boot. They were a legitimate company, but as a company, this and maybe another release was the extent of their inventory. They used to be a retailer back in the day.
As to the difference, I was wondering that too, however, I am satisfied with the original Super Tracks release.

Helpful Peter

I jumped for the La-La Land, despite having the Super Tracks, and the SCSE one disc. I do feel that the sound quality of the LLL is better than the other two. For me it feels like it's cleaner, brighter, and with a bit more punch at times.

The La-La Land is louder than the Super Tracks which is louder than the SCSE which is louder than the original Southern Cross CD.

For those who like loud mastering, it's certainly better.

Personally, I prefer the dynamics and the depth of the soundstage of the original CD mastered by Dan Hersch, and between the Super Tracks and the La-La Land, probably the Super Tracks.

The La-La Land is so loud that it gives me headache.

I would buy a new release from Intrada anyday.

I asked LLL in an email about it just this week and they said they're expecting to have it in stock by Fall.

I liked the first extended edition, but when I got the Lalaland , I was surprised by the channels separation , seems to my ears that the sound fields have no center, but left and right , may be due to the accoustics of C.T.s. Studios, London,it isn't the first time I dislike this recording location, and the John Richards' "touch" ...

One of his best scores...and I think a real original one right?....
Just out of curiosity...I think ..or is there any existing piece he incorporated..borrowed..whatever.

Are you planning to do this every time Horner comes up?

@ Mr. Moolik: There are, as usual, but there is enough semblance of originality in Krull to make up for it, somewhat. Of course, the less you know about the classical repertoire the less you are apt to be disappointed.

I think in Super Tracks vs. La la land album match the Super Tracks would win since its package is much more robust and, therefore, strong.

@ Mr. Totoro: Indeed. I have both, but I prefer the SuperTracks packaging. Nice Avatar btw.

I find that most of the Kruill releases have about the same sound quality.

The La-La Land release is slightly different to the SuperTracks, but there is so little difference in mixing or quality.

I previously had the SuperTracks release which served me well, then received a punched barcode promo of the La-La Land release (second printing I think) and then sold on the SuperTracks release to a good home, partly due to the thinner 2 CD case.

Curious, as someone who only has the LLL set, what is the different in packaging?
