Music composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith, our deluxe edition expands the original release from 9 to a whopping 39 tracks! The album was remastered by Bruce Botnick, Jerry Goldsmith's recording engineer for the original scoring sessions, from the original sources.

Militaristic snare drums, hammering percussion and French horns along with synth percussion puts, staccato use of the piano and keyboard percussion, define Jerry Goldsmith’s score to Stuart Baird’s 1998 action thriller U.S. Marshals.

In the sequel to the 1993 blockbuster The Fugitive, Tommy Lee Jones returns as United States Marshal Sam Gerard: He has been assigned to escort a federal prisoner to a maximum-security prison in Missouri. On the same flight is Mark Sheridan (Wesley Snipes), who has been arrested and charged with the murders of two Federal agents, though he insists he's innocent. The plane is involved in an accident leading to a crash, and after helping to rescue some of the passengers, Sheridan escapes. The State Department informs Gerard that finding Sheridan and putting him back behind bars is a top priority, and Gerard sets out on his trail, with the very much uncalled-for assistance of eccentric FBI agent John Royce (Robert Downey Jr.). However, Gerard soon begins to wonder how Sheridan became such an important man in the eyes of the government, while Sheridan is determined to find out who turned him in to the authorities.

Yeah all kidding aside I am running circles around my apartment right now. 39 tracks. They even included the brief flashback scenes. It looks to be all there. Amazing. Thank you so much, Varese.

Tracks I’m really looking forward to:
Funeral Ambush
Up the stairs
Into the building
Mark and Royce Fight
Ship Fight

Too bad they can't do anything about the movie. Ordered, by the way.

Never seen the film. Is this, overall, more the kind of generic Goldsmith action/ aerobic workout music ala AF1 and Executive Decision or is a good chunk , not heard in the samples, more varied and interesting?

BTW-No offense intended to the score's/film's fans.

To be honest, this score was never one I enjoyed much and among the titles Varese controls there are others for which I'd be much more excited. But you know what? I used to feel the same about Chain Reaction. The Deluxe Edition of that score was an entirely different listening experience -- practically a revelation, somehow -- so I am eager to give this one another chance too... 99% of Goldsmith scores tend to improve in my estimation when presented in complete form and I suspect this will as well. I'm very much looking forward to it and this is very much ORDERED.

This one has a pretty amazing end title. Worth a purchase for me just for that track .

This is definitely one that was hobbled by such a brief first album. It will thrive in expanded form. There are whole themes that weren’t on the old CD.

Whoa, really? I had no idea this was a First Knight sort of situation, with entire themes unrepresented on the original album.

Yeah there’s a chase motif introduced about half way through the film that didn’t make it to the old album.

Agreed. This is a really solid action score that puts to shame a lot of the crap pumped out by lesser talents in the past 20 years.
