It was, but the only copy of it available on SAE is from the Redman collection, indicating that it’s been OOP for some time. Therefore, I think this is Intrada’s way of getting it back in print, and possibly giving it a sonic upgrade as well.

The Redman collection included in-print titles so its presence there doesn't reflect how long it's been OOP.
The Intrada page says it will be a "completely restored score."

I'm afraid I never progressed beyond the Tsunami dodgy edition (which may or may not have another Goldsmith score on it, I'd have to check), such is my disregard for the music.
It's nothing awful, but also does absolutely nothing for me as a listening experience or compared to 95% of his other film work.
But like I said, happy for the fans. Hope it sells well.
Didn't the film feature tracked in Goldsmith music from another film, ala ALIEN?

I think it's the other way round. Didn't MORITURI turn up in THE LAST HARD MEN? I'm not Googling either, this is real life here, dodgy memories n'all. Again, without turning my head to look at the shelf, I too have that old Welly, and I think it might have IN HARM'S WAY on it, but I won't say any more as we're not allowed to talk footwear here.

Possibly Graham, although I do recall watching the Morituri film and noticing music I knew from something else.
Can't remember if it turned up in Last Hard Men.
And the Tsunami isn't a boot in Europe remember, we play by different (dodgy) rules and laws wink

3/21/2020

Jerry Goldsmith’s restored Morituri docks here next week, amidst the ever-evolving pandemic that cripples our nation and the world around us. While our release contains the same stereo contents as the previous release on FSM, the entire score has been remastered for improved audio and is lengthened - by one minute - to restore previous judicious trims and edits. We are maintaining reduced hours due to COVID-19 and local restrictions during the crisis but orders are welcome and will be filled as quickly as we are able. Artwork, contents and sound samples should be posted this coming Monday the 23rd. Everyone stay indoors as much as possible and be safe!

Really cool movie and score. I’m glad these decades old releases are getting revisited.

Hopefully one of these labels will rerelease and remix Breakout and Hour of the Gun.

We have allllllll, the time, in the woooooooorld....

Listening to 'my copy' of this now (bought legally in our HMV back in the olde days) and it's very different from my initial dismissal of it.
I don't love it, or ever will.
But there's a lot less Zither than I originally remembered and lots of Twilight Zone/Von Ryans/Cock-eyed ID style action and suspense grooves. I'm still not mad about the main theme though.
While it never rises to the heights of 'around the same time' scores like Blue Max or Sand Pebbles or Patch Of Blue, I suppose it never grates on me like his Adrian Messenger score.
Interestingly, In Harms Way has just started up (it follows Morituri on the old Tsunami disc - and so sayeth Graham), which Intrada already upgraded in quite spectacular fashion.

Morituri has some cliche sounding "asian" music at the start, but gets much better as the movie progresses. Even the zither cue is improved. Good movie, and Brando actually acts, but maybe not a likeable movie. Whereas "Satan Bug" made the same year is pretty mediocre but a pleasure to watch because of Goldsmith's music.
