Today, I received the three new titles from the Varese Sarabande Club. Never have I seen CDs shipped and packed so negligently; nothing but cardboard container with no bubble wrap or packing of any kind. As expected one of the jewel cases (for Air Force One) had a deep crack in it. I have emailed Varese through their shipping company as directed on their website but I wonder what type of response I will get about a replacement jewel case. All of us pay too much money for these exemplary film scores and have high expectations to receive those items that we purchase in mint condition to be treated so shabbily by a shipping company. Is that too much to ask?

If that is true, that is pathetic. Of course there is always the option of telling my credit card company to cancel or reverse payment. I am sure that would send an appropriate message.

I would totally have the charges removed.

Sick of Varese’s cheapness. It is the main reason I passed on any of their new club titles. Their shipping and packaging are awful. They just expect customers to take in damaged items.

Pretty much everyone working AT V.S.R. When I was there and the two who are left feel your/our pain, but the higher ups made the decision and the mere workers left behind have no say on this. I tried when I worked there as I was always looking out for us. Frustrating beyond belief frown

Last time I ordered directly from Varese was my infamous RAGGEDY MAN order where everything came cracked in the useless paper thin packaging. They might as well send the stuff in Potato Chips bags. And that was my LAST time ordering directly from them.

SAE and LA LA LAND have never let me down with quality of service and packaging. They are Awesome.

Show VARESE if they don't give a darn about us in their packaging, you will go elsewhere.

Fyi, Varese will not replace damaged cases (will only replace damaged discs). I inquired a few months ago on an order with them. The case was shipped in a cardboard wrap and arrived with a seriously damaged case. I did get a $5 voucher though.

I bought the Rooster Cogburn disc. Arrived, as expected, with the case smashed.
This has happened with every order I have received via their Naxos shipping. They obviously don't care.
Probably best to order from a third party like SAE or Intrada that receives their Varese orders in some kind of bulk box, rather than Naxos' feeble, damage-prone single package.

And yet you order again and again and advise others to order elsewhere???

As always, mine have arrived in pristine condition.

At least Varese must use a decent packaging to ship the CDs to SAE and other outlets. Of course these outlets would not accept damaged broken cases to then sell to us all. VARESE, yotta be ashamed. SAE and LA LA LAND and others make you look so unprofessional.

After the last batch of CDs arrived damaged, I made the decision to order future titles from another outlet. I'm glad I did. Seems Varese haven't listened to their customer complaints.

Buy some damn replacement jewel cases. They're dirt cheap in bulk.

It says right on the packing slip that they will replace defective items, and right below that it says that broken jewel cases are not considered defective items.
If Varese is going to continue shipping CDs in an unprotected paper bag, then I might just start buying them from a third party, like Intrada or MovieMusic who still use decent packaging.

I don't like this idea, because one I shouldn't have to be penalized for their incompetence, and two buying them in bulk cost just as much as the CD itself. I shouldn't have to pay double. And three, there's no encouragement for them to improve.
