It's been fascinating to follow "The American Dream" as it unfolded -- from Peter's somewhat 'goofy' fanboy enthusiasm about a decade ago (unboxing all those soundtracks in his Indiana home) to his position within the industry in LA now. Congrats, Peter!
Huge congrats Peter, including that you've signed Christopher Young! Jus read his post on Facebook:
"It’s my distinct honor that I can now let you all know I’ve signed with Peter Hackman at Bohemia Group management. I have known Peter for almost ten years ever since I attended his 2nd Annual Fans Of Film Music event. From that event, I have seen Peter work his way up in our industry from a lifelong passionate fan to; working at Varèse Sarabande Records in a variety of roles to now co-owning the soundtrack record company Notefornote Music and now manager to composers. I had the distinct honor of working with him at Varèse Sarabande Records on a few projects, one being the massive 8 CD set of the "A Nightmare On Elm Street" series, which included an expanded soundtrack of my score from Part 2. I saw how he managed it and how well he worked with my team as well as his own team on that project. Upon learning he was now repping composers we had a lunch and from there, here we are. Truly honored to add him to my already excellent team including Vasi Vangelos at First Artist Management. Thank you Peter, looking forward to what the future has in store for both of us my friend!" -Christopher Young
Appreciate all the nice notes everyone. Though I now represent composers and all that fun stuff I keep telling people I'm still a big nerdy film music nerd at heart Christopher is a great guy who I've known and worked with for 10yrs. I'm honored he searched me out to rep him.
Funny story, my friend Alan Dull was attending a Horrorhound Convention in Indianapolis YEARS ago maybe 2008 or 2009 and he told me hey Christopher Young is here walking around. We both were big fans. So when I went to the festival the next day as that's when I had a pass to go, I of course brought along a couple Young CD covers and a sharpie. I saw him walking around, stopped him and asked him to sign and he was funny he said, "you carry those around with you all the time?" We laughed and I went home. I remember that convention as Corey Haim was there and I was absolutely sicker than a dog that day. Good times and more good times ahead
That is frikkin' awesome! And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy (that is, of course, assuming that Peter isn't a big dumb jerk in person and only pretends to be a nice guy online... Just kidding)!
Congrats! Can't wait to hear what comes next in your endeavors.
