CD CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT! Varese is very excited to announce our first of three CD Club batches for 2019. New for this year, onsales will take place on Fridays instead of Mondays, but still at 10 a.m. PST. This will be the last batch to feature an "ENCORE" title as we focus exclusively on new releases and expansions with the Club moving forward. This last Encore is a good one, though! See you here this Friday the 15th (beware the ides of March!) for the reveal.
I won't miss the Encore releases (I think re-issues of old LP/CD content should only be done when no masters can be found for a deluxe edition), so I'm glad to hear they're focusing on expansions.
Now if only they'd announce the elimination of brickwalling!
Yes usually 3 or 4, and in this case Robert revealed on FB it was three when listing his complete catalogue at Varese (two DEs and an Encore).

I feel similarly except for hoping they still reissue highly sought-after stuff like The 'Burbs DE for those who missed out on it. And also, I do think a lot of their remaining old LPs never released on CD at this point probably don't survive in complete form, but what do I know?
Okay, there was one other cool thing about some Encore Editions: when releases that were originally in suite track form got split up into individual cues (i.e. Kamen's Suspect).

I guess "technically" if you add ONE extra track, it can be considered an "expansion" so maybe hope is not lost for every title that would fall into the Encore category.
