I found the trailer and I have to say it looks like it's going to be a big hit! It looks like a film where adults might enjoy it as much as the children in the audience, though, time will tell. I know I want to see it. Has anyone heard any news about the music and the songs in this new version? The always talented Marc Shaiman is credited. The music used here in the trailer..anyone know where it's from, or was it written for the film? Here's the trailer link:

I'm looking forward to the score, but the film ... watching that trailer it's like Disney never got the old film, don't know how to films that don't cry fakeand trying too hard. And that actress playing Poppins ... cringe-y.

I always look forward to Shaiman's scores. They are usually fun, lively and melodic. Not sure who wrote the trailer music, but is sounds like a Shaiman score. Hopefully the movie will be wonderful.

"That actress" is Emily Blunt, who is generally very good.

But this film sure looks like it's in the category of "Hook" and "Christopher Robin," the forced whimsy of "you forgot what it's like to be a kid!" that makes my skin crawl.

I could put up with that cliché if the film didn't look like like every other modern film trying to call back to an older one, just with names, places, and characters from the old one inserted. Serious, it looks like any of bland film. And that's yet another problem I have with it.

It is a VERY carefully crafted trailer. That is all.

All you cranks can go back to your Game of Thrones and Infinity Wars. This doesn't look so bad.

I don't go for those two, either.

Thank you! All those cynics on this board... Can't you guys enjoy anything anymore? I know my daughters are looking forward to this and so am I.

Same old Disney formula I'm afraid for the new I Phone generation and their guardians.
This rehash of a movie classic would have been far better handled by Mr Spielberg who would have surely employed Mr J Williams.

Just saw the trailer and I nearly got a tear in my eye. I suspect that Disney will pull out all the stops for this, they've even got Dick Van Dyke back! More dodgy cockney accent! What's not to love?

I'm afraid my silly sentiment is all tied up with my own daughter's love for all things Disney so.... doh! I reckon I'll be 'dragged' to see this.

All that, Lin-Manwell and a Bag a Chips! The only thing missing is bloody Madonner! But, I love a great Marc Shaiman Score! He's Awesome.

Nice to see Angela Lansbury there.

But why do they insist on a youthful MP who looks like a cosmetics ad?

Emily Blunt is six years older than Julie Andrews was when she played the role.

I love the original, but I have to say this looks very cute and looks to be a fun ride. Curious how much of the Sherman's creations will be in the underscore. I hope a few flourishes here and there.

I'm with you on Marc Shaiman... Say what you want about THE SOUTH PARK MOVIE, Shaiman's score and songs were nothing short of brilliant. (I love the score for A FEW GOOD MEN also!) I might have to see this, actually. Disney seldom disappoints, and I strongly suspect that this will be another box office blockbuster.

So a film musical you haven't seen would have been better if made by someone who didn't want to, in conjunction with a score by someone not known for their songs.

Not a fan of South Park, but yeah the score and songs are amazing.
