The credits at the end of the trailer for Steve McQueen's newest confirm Zimmer's involvement. It'll be really interesting to see what kind of approach McQueen wants from Zimmer on a project like this given the modern Zimmer action sound versus the kind of Zimmer sound he's sought in the past (even if Harry Escott scored SHAME we know what score McQueen wanted). Looks from the trailer like there is a lot of room for Zimmer to roam; I'm excited to see which direction McQueen pushes him.

And I mean, JUST LOOK AT THIS THING

Some of the reviews mention the score:

"And then there’s Hans Zimmer’s score, which flies a little under the radar for a bit, but when it kicks into high gear it’s tremendously effective."
http://collider.com/widows-review-viola-davis/

"It is during the end sequences, especially, when it becomes clear that the whole team–McQueen, Flynn, cinematographer Sean Bobbitt, composer Hans Zimmer–are at the top of their respective games."
https://thefilmstage.com/reviews/tiff-review-widows-is-a-timely-tremendously-entertaining-heist-drama/

"McQueen also plays around with form – a lengthy conversation is staged without even showing the two people conversing; instead, we just see the car they’re in driving out of one low-rent neighborhood to an affluent spot a few blocks away. All of this is aided by Hans Zimmer’s churning, ominous score. "

"Working with his usual cinematographer Sean Bobbit, he injects each scene with a jittery naturalism imbued with constant urgency from Hans Zimmer’s score."

There's less than 20 min of score in the film, don't hold your breath for a release...

Great, now Zimmer has ammo to throw back when we get all over his ass for bombast in other scores. "Yah, but I did WIDOWS & it only had 20mins!"
Just like Williams' IMAGES, whenever someone gets on him for "blasting away from his romantic castle", he's got that ace.

This is a joke attempt. I love the hell out of both these gents.

Maybe they'll pair this with Dead Presidents in about fifty years.

Fox is now Disney property, so maybe sooner than that.

Where is the info from? I can't find anything, but I'm certainly hoping for a release.

This soundtrack should not be released by any other than Vista.

Looks like Zimmer located some more music so they could indeed put out an album, Soldier.

There's a clip from the score on a Soundcloud embed there (the kind you can't click through to their page and control the volume with gdi).

Yes, the music is horrible.

Yes, the music is horrible.
"The Job," is effectively propulsive. But I thought Sade was boring AF in the 80s.

another reason to stay away from this then.... if the "music" itself wasnt horrible enough, packaging kills it completely.

It's still better than a download only release. I don't mind cardboard sleeves, I always take the disc out of them and put it in a normal jewel case, then put the cardboard case next to it on the shelf. At least it's a normal, pressed CD. Glad that it comes at all. And I actually enjoy this score more with each listen.

Hmmm....this was one of the more disappointing Zimmer scores I've heard in recent years. But I haven't seen the film yet, so I'll postpone some evaluation for when I have.

Liking it here.

Brief though.

About 23 minutes of score with 14 minutes of songs. One absolutely dreadful rap song.
