Assuming this is limited, what makes this different from a CD Club release? Seems redundant to have both now.

Believe it or not, it's one TV series I've never seen and therefore have never heard a lick of.

Dunno anything about this but I'm a fan of the composer so I'm curious to hear sound clips! Wow, this one really came out of the blue...

Well who thought the first Stephen J.Cannell production to get this treatment would be, and I've IRS album came back in the day.

Funny, isn't it? wink

Possibly a synth-pop score but it's nice to see Peter Bernstein getting some recognition.

It is synthetic mainly, which was to be expected from a 90s cop show for Fox.

Definitely nothing against Peter Bernstein, who certainly deserves attention... Just what's exactly the point of this series then?

I was only a casual fan of the show back in the day so I don’t remember the music at all (except for the theme song). But I am looking forward to hearing the samples.

I would say to put out CDs of music people might want to buy, same as any albums ever made.

Well... in that case there is no difference between WHYS and any other limited editions series...

This series was supposed to be covering titles people actually wanted and asked for and that was its point. I don't remember seeing anyone asking about any of the last few WHS releases... if any of them.

So when is eg more Alias and Undercovers getting released?
Or anything that people actually ask for...?

I wonder if the We and You are both the same person with questionable taste looking into a mirror.

I have to agree. I don't mind any new music being released, but maybe put this under a different series. I also don't recall anyone asking for this.

Here's how Varese described the series when it began:

"In continuing with our commitment to introduce freshly-branded music series, Varèse Sarabande presents “We Hear You”, a semi-monthly, limited edition soundtrack series that you, the fans, have been requesting. Whether it’s a gem that never saw the light of day, or a long sold-out title worthy of a reissue, if the demand is there, “We Hear You!” Curated by fans, for fans, who have never given up hope that a label will release that overlooked or special soundtrack. Music you want, music you missed…We Hear You!"

With that general of a mission, there's not much that can't be issued in the series. In fact, the only overarching requirement is that it be something "that you, the fans, have been requesting."

Is "CD series name imprecisely defined" now a reason to carp about Varèse?

Yup....

As far as I'm concerned it's at WORST, a interesting release by a really great composer for a long forgotten TV project.

It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but god love them for putting it out in the first place.

To paraphrase Eminem, could the person who requested 21 Jump Street please stand up? I repeat will the real person who requested 21 Jump Street please stand up?
