In appreciation of Michael Kamen, and since the Goldsmith thread yielded positive results, let's examine how much of the late composer's discography remains to be properly released. I know I'm missing several OSTs, but I only listed the albums that either I'm personally familiar with, or albums that other fans have described as incomplete; feel free to correct me so I can include OSTs that are missing substantial amounts of music. Officially released: The Next Man The Dead Zone Brazil (my #1 Kamen grail) Edge Of Darkness (an isolated score, in mono, also exists) Highlander Mona Lisa (the Quartet release was a straight reissue of the LP; there are some extra bits not accounted for, maybe lost) Rita, Sue, and Bob Too! (an isolated music-and-FX track exists, and the LP only includes TWO cues!) The Raggedy Rawney Licence To Kill The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen The Krays Nothing But Trouble (only 4 MINUTES released!) Hudson Hawk (presumably controlled in perp by Varese) Let Him Have It Shining Through Last Action Hero The Three Musketeers Don Juan DeMarco (although an isolated score also exists) Circle Of Friends Mr. Holland's Opus 101 Dalmatians Event Horizon From The Earth To The Moon Band Of Brothers Open Range Unreleased: Close Call Snowbound S*H*E Polyester Angelo My Love Shanghai Surprise (with George Harrison) Someone To Watch Over Me Homeboy (apparently none of Kamen's material made the soundtrack album) Action Jackson (none of Kamen's material made the soundtrack album, only one cue of Herbie Hancock's material) For Queen and Country Dead Bang Rooftops Cold Dog Soup Blue Ice Splitting Heirs Wilder Napalm Stonewall (none of Kamen's material made the soundtrack album) Fair Game (the MK Estate recently unearthed this, but only in mock-up form) Remember Me? (with Edward Shearmur) Frequency (the DVD contains an isolated score) Against The Ropes First Daughter (with Blake Neely; a promo exists) Scores with missing material: Die Hard 2 (the Club release is OOP, and missing an alternate cue, and film mixes of cues that were unearthed by the MK Estate) Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves (a 5-minute cue, source music, and an insert are presumably lost) The Last Boy Scout (two cues are lost; an alternate exists on a b**t) Die Hard With A Vengeance (the LLL release, while fantastic, is OOP and missing early versions of cues and other goodies discovered by the MK Estate) The Iron Giant (early versions of cues, although recorded, were not included on the Deluxe Edition)

I'm with you in that I'd really relish an expanded "Brazil". I also keep putting off buying "Don Juan Demarco" because I know that as soon as I do, an expanded version will come out - so I'm hoping I'm proved right on that front eventually. I remember that sometime last year La-La Land hinted quite strongly that "X-Men" would be coming from them at some point, but they also said that it would be a while before it came out (I think the reason they mentioned was so it wouldn't conflict with "Days of Future Past" merchandising and things like that). Regardless of when it's coming out, I'm looking forward to hearing it - particularly if much of Kamen's original conceptions for the score were recorded and are still extant. Great thread! Love Kamen's work - from the hysterical "Die Hard" scores to the glorious "Band of Brothers" - and I realize now looking through my collection that I have some serious gaps in my Kamen collection which I'll have to spend some time filling. Thanks for making me revisit his music, too!

I may be the only one but I want his score to Venom to be released. I watched that on DVD the the other day; hadn't seen it for years. The film is laughably bad IMO ("Can you hear me?" "Yes, I can hear you" - type dialogue, repeated throughout) but I do like the music. It isn't that heavily scored though. And of course the music is used on his Guitar Concerto, which I like very much.

OK, made some revisions to the list! On top of the things already mentioned, there's still some 10-15 minutes missing of DIE HARD and LIFEFORCE, plus his rejected scores for Assassins and The Avengers I think. I don't know what's missing from Lifeforce, but I was tempted to include the most recent version of Die Hard and even The Last Boy Scout because of missing material, presumably lost. Should I throw them on the list? MV stated back in February that "Assassins only had a few demos recorded. An actual score was never recorded for the film. Fair Game...we don't know yet."

We desperately need Kamen/Clapton's Edge Of Darkness That was also released as an isolated score, but I included it on the list.
