Almost every sci fi film- "Shields at 75% Captain! Shields at 30%. Our shields can't take one more hit!"
All that technobabble does nothing to add to the drama.
Sometimes I wonder, regarding the original episode "The Ultimate Computer", what if the M-5 had worked as designed? What would that Star Trek be like?

In thrillers where a guy whos on the run from bad guys / dirty cops/ eastern european gangsters whatever, rings his girlfriend to warn her but instead of telling her the crucial stuff "Baby, no shit, this is life of death, bad guys are after me, dont go home!!!" They either talk in a convoluted way n lose signal, or the girl gets the hump over something innocuous n slams the phone down and is then unobtainable.
Always the same, lazy filmmaking, and such a cheap n contrived way to make a tense plot.

Hero tries to operate a flying vessel (plane, starship, pegasus, etc), but can't get control of it and plummets straight to the ground, the last stretch of the fall masked by some overgrowth or what not...
... go ahead, guess what happens next...
... g'head...
... yep, you're a psychic (or you've seen this billions of times), the hero pulls up just in time to fly right toward the camera, usually to the blaring triumph of a fanfare.
And of course the hero lets out a whooping "Yahoo!" and has now perfectly mastered the controls of the flying contraption and can pull crazy barrel rolls for fun.

Almost every sci fi film? Like BLADE RUNNER, THE THING, METROPOLIS...
I'd call METROPOLIS a masterpiece if only they'd left that part out.

More on TV-shows than in film, and maybe not so much now but:
A: "text, text, text, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, text, text."
B: "Say that again"
A: "What?"
B: "Bla, bla"
A repeats the section bla, bla, bla, bla, bla
B: "That's it, there's the clue"
B clearly knows what A said as is evident from B being able to point out where A has to repeat and the section to be repeated by B so what's with the unnecessary theatrics of having B repeat that section.
A bloody annoying waste of time.

Interesting. Actually, Fascinating!
However it wound up, Fleet Admiral Kirk would have to be in charge. After all, he was the only one able to outsmart M-5 (and Daystrom) and Nomad and save humanity!
By the time Kirk gained that rank, M-5s would give way to M-2000s, or M2Ks/MK Ultras. Android Trek would be a thing.

Hotshot detective: ... I felt that.
Ah yes, the plug-n-play insert, secondary foil for underdog badass heroes: the Beyond Your Paygrade official. At some point, it'll come to this...
Hotshot detective: I got this.
FBI Agent: No, I got this.
Special armed forces General Muckitymuck: No, I got this.
The President: No, I got this.
Alien hegemony attache: No, I got this.
The Jesus: No, I got this.
Screenwriter: No, I got this!
Everyone else but the screenwriter: ... do you?
So it goes from Jerry, to you, to the cleaners... right, Kent?

...in any sort of "secret" government lab where cruel experiments are being performed on children, there's always a janitor or maid who not only helps one or more children to escape, but also surreptitiously films evidence of said atrocities to give to the kid(s) in question before they get killed off? How bad is the security in these places when someone pushing a mop or switching the linen can take one of more children out so easily, let alone get video evidence of what they're up to? See Logan and the Stephen King novel The Institute (which I'm currently reading) for examples.
Ive seen something else where this happens.
So forgettable ive forgotten what it was.

In movies or TV shows, beware when a scene begins with children playing outside early in the morning or two lovers strolling happily through a park...a dead body will soon be found leading to a stunned look from the kids/a close-up of the woman screaming.
