"Finished all five seasons of Misfits" ------------------ I enjoyed each series of THE MISFITS, Ob, but found each subsequent series slightly 'less good' than the previous one. Losing key/favourite characters was a major reason for this (the Irish waste-oid of Series 1 & 2 was really funny and the quiet geek was another fave)*. But it was very good (and funny) overall, if you're not easily offended. *I think the northern chav girl with the big nose, from the first two series, got sacked from the show after getting done for some racist attack or abuse in real life (the one who "sh@gged a fkn gorilla"!!!) Yah, she did, she's from Derby, i think. Her accent was mad, part-Manc, part-Staffs, part-summat else. I agree it was diminishing returns, though i felt maybe parts of series 2 and 3 were less fun as the hand of Christopher Nolan inspiration loomed over everything and it tried being a proper super-hero thing. The score felt heavily influenced by The Dark Knight at times, as well as that underground lair design. I mostly liked it for Sheehan then Gilgun in the roles of lead scrotes. They did stuff in that series which was hilariously shocking and would not survive in any USA reimagining.

LINE OF DUTY, seasons 1 through 5. It is a great British series about a group of British detectives who investigate "bent" or corrupt police officers. I admit I get a bit weary of some of the long interrogations, but overall, it is well-acted and an interesting series. JOAN ! I came here specifically to mention Line Of Duty, and there you are . We did the first 4 seasons a few months ago and finished 5 last month. Superb stuff. The long interrogations don't bother me, as they manage to make what could be dry questioning rather suspenseful at times. Then again I'm a huge fan of Ed McBain's 87th precinct series of police procedural novels, so it was pleasing to see most of the action take place in the interview room. When finally - no real spoiler - the series broke out into a huge action scene in a later season finale ( series 3? 4? ) it was just insane I've read season 6 has picked up production again after a Covid break, so it'll be a while before we see it here in the States. Have you seen the UK thriller series Bodyguard ? It's written by Jed Mercurio who created and writes Line Of Duty and that's a good nail-biter as well. More action oriented but the first episode has a stunningly suspenseful 20 minute opening sequence that'll hook you. I believe it is still on Netflix. Just finished Blood on Acorn TV ( through Amazon ), a 2 series thriller with Adrian Dunbar ( Superintendent Hastings from Line Of Duty ). Series 1 was just excellent, a low key but gripping psychological crime story that has a few F*CK NO moments ( in the best way ) and a shattering finale. Series 2 is good, a bit broader, but still entertaining. Deadwater Fell ( also Acorn TV) stars David Tennant in a nice twisty domestic mystery. Watching Tennant is making me want to go back and go through all 3 seasons of Broadchurch again

Yes Joan good performances. And the casting proved inspired. I thought the defence lawyer was very believable too. (The lady's name is Noma Dumezweni, shes british). Plus i also thought the husband from Game of thrones was decent too. If you watch that Pacino film you will see the similar connection at the end.

My mistake joan I thought the husband was Grey Worm (jacob anderson) but it wasnt. It was a guy called Ismael Cruz Córdova, who i knew from Ray Donovan.
