LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE

Good series, based on Celeste Ng's novel of the same name (which I have not read). So it's a miniseries with a clear beginning and ending, not a continuing, ongoing drama show.

Dares to go some places lots of shows won't. Character driven drama show. Best you don't know anything about it when watching it (I didn't either), so what's it about without spoilers?

Drifting artist and single mom Mia Warren (Kerry Washington) rents a house from well to do journalist Elena Richardson (Reese Witherspoon), who lives a perfect family life with her lawyer husband (Joshua Jackson) and four children in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Everything could almost be just about perfect for everyone.... but it isn't... and, alas... as everyone should know but always easily forgets... little lies and secrets start little fires that may well grow into larger fires...

Well done.

Fear City was a three part documentary about the mafia in New York in the 80s. Wish it would have been ten parts. Very interesting.

I finished season one of Deadwood, better than I remembered it, bloody brilliant! I'll watch a couple of seasons of other series before I move on to series two (which I haven't seen). I'm going to give season one of Penny Dreadful a go.

Hanna. Season 2 - Mir did the same but less interesting.

Indian Matchmaking. Bizarre dating help for Indian lonely hearts. Lots of family pressure as they search for light-skinned, rich person of the right caste and good family and also have a five-year plan.

The Last Wave. A French six part series on BBC4 on Saturday nights (subtitled). It finished tonight, I've been recording them & I've just looked at the first episode. There's this very long cigar shaped cloud that looks very odd & ominous, & there's this little amateur surfing competition involving all ages 6 to 40. Anyway, while they're in the water this cloud comes down & they all disappear, & emerge from the sea five hours later remembering nothing, but they all seem to have various powers that they didn't have before. It looks like it could be quite good.

Haven't seen Penny Dreadful, but I do agree with you about Perry Mason. I thought it was a layered, deep narrative and loved the production values. The finale set us up for season 2 which I look forward to seeing. However, I can't say that I loved the finale. It was kind of enigmatic. I'm not sure I really understood it all. (Seeing who is going to be in it next season make be a bit to woke for some of our members.)

Hey joanie

We havent had that yet. Must be tonight.
Probably.

Penny dreadful is girl from g.o.t as a demon in several guises having sex with various men n making mayhem, murder death and evil deeds everywhere. Its well made. And the Dormer bird is sexy.

Dexter season four. Two episodes in. Great! John Lithgow makes a terrifically creepy serial killer.

Yep, I liked Dexter. Due to so many reruns I am now watching Dexter again and am on season 7. Like GOT, I'm getting more out out watching this series each day instead of one episode each week with months between seasons. Better flow.

Lithgow was great and if my memory isn't too tainted, I believe he won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his work on Dexter.

It's getting even better as it goes along. Theres a funny I joke where Perry Mason says he's a quarter welsh - the actor is welsh - and Tatiana Maslany who plays Sister Mary says "it's a long road from saskatchewan to here" and she's from Regina, SK.

This show made me appreciate AVENUE 5 a whole lot more.
I keep meaning to watch some further episodes of Space Force, but so far, haven't gotten past ep1.

Seinfeld. Bought all 9 seasons on ebay as remembered loving it back on the 90's when it was on TV. Watched the first episode. Think I've made a big mistake. Didn't find it funny at all.

Finished The Outsider. It was very well acted and produced, great direction and effective music, with some sympathetic characters and strong writing. The end fell a bit flat. Thiugh the resolution was well done. The mid-credits ending was just irritating, baiting a sequel when it didn't need it and the thing couldn't have happened.
