Got some Walkers Pickled Onion crisps today. Will give them a go later.

There were some Worcestershire potato sticks (or fries) and I nearly bought them...

I'm going to bet you like 'em. Those fries I'm pretty sure are unique to Walkers, though the snack is based on previous ones like the old Nibb-its. I.e the mix they have for deep frying isn't new, just their twist. On that front the Worcester Sauce flavour is the best. And that flavour I believe is also unique to Walkers crisps too. So far...

I'll get some of those next time, along with the ketchup-flavored crisps.

Looking forward to trying the Heinz curry beanz...which meal do they best accompany, or do I just eat them cold, straight out of the can? wink

The numerous suggestions were quite helpful, so thanks for those, cretins.

Eat them close to a loo. Better still round a campfire, pardner.

Those warnings were already printed on the can of beans.

Oi! Phelps! NO! (Quote from UK comedy with Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse). I remember years ago Windsor Davies, while he was still playing the Sgt Major in It Ain't Half Hot Mum sitcom set in India, advertising these on UK tv. I had actually seen them in a shop and was already intrigued and this spurred me on to try them.

They were ok, but I had them on their own in a dish with a couple of slices of bread and butter. Mainly because I couldn't think of what to have them with. But one thing that springs to mind is fish and chips. Over here we get a cheapo type of curry sauce in the fish and chip shops as an alternative to mushy peas and it goes quite well. But I reckon anything will do.

Tip for curry - reheated on the next at or so. Tastes even better.

I'll be trying out the curry beans when we have our fry up tonight. Can't wait to dig into the black pudding, grilled tomatoes, et al.

This morning I had fried egg, mushrooms and some black pudding. For a change, instead of ' normal ' bacon we had belly pork, thinly sliced ( with the Lecky slicer). It was a nice change. Bacon yet not bacon. smile

Reheated curry was always my favourite. In fact I often had it for breakfast. And then I read about the amount of people that get food poisoning from reheated rice. It has made me more cautious. Here is the NHS guide to it

Curry beans were a canned delight, and the pickled onion crisps were as well.

We'll see how the canned mac and cheese tastes later this week. Then, who knows? Hoops and canned spaghetti! The Brit food frontier is limitless!

Mac + cheese was nice on toast. The spag is ok but can taste a bit floury.

I grew up with these things. Some in later life get sniffy at tinned spaghetti and ravioli, but I can happily eat them. I have a can of baked beans with sausages nearly every week. Tinned salmon is another. Just because I've had 'the real thing' now doesn't mean I've lost the enjoyment of these. Some of them a perfect for a quick lunch.

Real salmon is for snobs. So says my dad.

I remember Prince's brand salmon paste on sandwiches as a kid were ace.

Ate some Ruffles brand sour cream and onion crisps that were rather fit. I think Seabrooks had that flavour years ago that i loved.
