Saving one a-typical’s depression to increase the risk of contagion over “a movie” isn’t very convincing. There are alternatives like youtube, your dvd player, getting out for a walk, etc. There’s nothing here that’s deeply affecting your liberties, except the inability to adapt. We can debate all day on the aspects of the shutdown, but I’m talking about the reality: it exists, so deal with it. Based on that first sentence, I find the examples given earlier by people extremely self-centered.

How long are you going to keep speechifying?
Just curious.

For starters that was a direct reply. Second, till you understand that your immaterial needs are not all that important to the bigger picture of the times. And, no, I don't believe some here if given the choice would regulate themselves. Young vs oldenoughtoknowsbetterwouldstilldoits.

You clearly need to stop assuming that you know anyone else here well enough to judge what our needs are.
None of us here require you to be our moral watchdog (as far as I can see).

You've been swimming out a little far.
You should come back to shore, bud.

In Canadese it's "I know, eh?".
(Usually said in a Tim Horton's with a medium double-double.)

Ha ha. Reminds me of the Carlson brothers in Slap Shot. I actually saw them play in person a few times back in the 70s when they were in the WHA.

When we took the kids to the Canadian Falls years back, my son was in heaven with all the Morton's. According to Wiki, "There are more doughnut shops per capita in Canada than anywhere else on the planet. Canadians eat more doughnuts than any other country's citizens."

Not just moonlit, since it take both sides to continue an argument.

Yeah, that's a nice ideal to try and live by, but maybe you should direct that concept to the guy on offense and not the guys playing defence.

Kirk was such a troll! Who would've though.

Saturday I'll be tested for Covid 19. It's mandatory. Looks like fun...

There seems to be a common opinion that it's uncomfortable, but I say "meh"--I get farther up there with just my finger.

But good on you, Brother Sol, for getting tested.

Have fun.... From what I've seen (on the news), it looks like the test goes quickly, like a punch in the face. Hopefully, you will not end up in Queersville.

Will you (and the rest of the staff) be getting the presidential treatment - weekly test? Also, will they be testing your blood, too, to see if you have specific antibodies?

It would be great if your company could find a way to pay "infected" employees who will have to quarantine. One of my coworkers did the 2 week quarantine. I think he got paid (or was eliglible to get paid) due to the state "family and medical leave" plan.

The weather is getting nice on the East coast. Today, when I went out to pick up food, I thought I saw a "Mission Accomplished" banner waving in the air. When will you get the test results?

My 92 year old mother-in-law was tested twice in the last month. The first time she tested negative and the second time she tested inconclusive. A third test is upcoming. Poor lady. frown

That makes me wonder what percentage of the results are actually false-positives.
Mind you, the scuttlebutt is now that tests are overrated.

We were told that up front before they tested her. Makes us nervous.

Thanks buddy. But I don't have a choice in the matter. Testing is mandatory.

Thxs, good to hear its done quickly. It takes some apprehension out of it.

Edit: Forgot to answer some of your questions. I'm sure we will only be tested once, not weekly at least for the foreseeable future. The state is making its rounds. I'll have my results in 3 days. No one at my facility has had Covid 19 to our knowledge. How my employer handles it I don't know. But I would assume I'd have to take my PTO's or lose my income.

It's a pandemic we've never had to deal with before. Nor has the world ever come to a complete halt, at least in modern times. People are impatient and want results. So governments and the medical field are rushing to try anything that may or may not work. Its an imperfect situation to say the least.

With the world human population on lock down pollution is way down around the world and animals are reclaiming the land.

I just want to point out that I was not supporting the scuttlebutt, I was mocking it.
