Outsiders began with sufficient intrigue and then just sorta sputtered to an anticlimax. Molly makes for an interesting character but I can't say the prospect of another season that'll drag its feet like this one is something I'd be eager to see.

Good point. I think its fair to say it started brilliantly and although slow, was heading somewhere.

Been really enjoying Reilly.
Ace of spies this week featured Leo McKern, a very young Bill Nighy and an almost unrecognisable Joanne Whalley-Kilmer.

Just watched the penultimate episode of Avenue 5.
The darkness is coming out now.
The airlock sequences were black humour at its best. Even the missus finally started chuckling while watching it.
Hugh Laurie is ace.
Looking forward to the series finale next week and glad it's been renewed, despite the mid series wobble.

The Trip To Spain with Steve Coogan & Rob Brydon. It was a two hour version on Sky One. I really enjoyed it, they've stopped it being about the food (& the cost of the food), which I miss, but it's nice easy telly (they've sort of replaced Michael Caine with Mick Jagger). I'm recording The Trip To Greece right now, & I'll start watching it when I have them all. I think the best season is the second one, The Trip To Italy.

I'm on season 4 of Deep Space Nine. It's mostly enjoyable stuff. They have an interesting potential massive war bubbling away in the background. Worf has just turned up for some reason. The actors who really impress are actually the people in mounds of latex, the ferengi guy, the cardassian guy and Andrew Robinson, all interesting characters and really emotive in their performances.

Inside No. 9 - finished this year's batch. Very entertaining as ever. Recommended.

The Sinner - on season 1 episode 7. It's consistent in being entertaining and just intriguing enough to stay with but it feels like it's not going to have a happy ending.

I'm just getting into season 3 of Friday Night Lights. A few years ago I tried to watch it from a friend's DVD set, but season 2 just became so much of a soap opera I couldn't continue and handed them back. After Christmas the entire series was in HMV for just 13.99 GBP, and my friend was adamant that season 3 saw things get back on track so I decided to give it another go. It does get better from the outset of season 3, there's no doubt about that as some of the storylines from season 2 were immediately overturned, so it'll be interesting to see where it goes.

Watched the first episode of THE PLOT AGAINST AMERICA on HBO. If interested you might check out the review of this series at Roger Ebert. First episode just lays the groundwork. I must say that the production values are amazing right down to the cars and rotary phones. While it takes place in 1940, it is supposed to be a parallel commentary of our current world.

Watched the first episode of WESTWORLD season 3. It wasn’t as confusing at season 2, and I’ll continue to watch it. It is developing some interesting narrative lines.

Almost done the BBC’s POLDARK. Really a good series. He sure does a lot of horseback riding along the edges of cliffs. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous, and the production values are superb. I love both of the leads. If someone decides to do another Wuthering Heights, Turner would make a perfect and dark Heathcliff.

I watched this too Joanie. Stylistically very impressive, at one point during the flying craft journey reminded me of blade runner, and then with long electronic tones in the music during the dolores robot shooting henchmen it was reminiscent of terminator. Im about as confused as i will ever be as to who got out, whos a robot, etc - but i liked the payoff after the end credits with mauve in a nazi town.

Joan, did you watch every season, so quickly? I'm glad you liked it. Do you end up talking like they do?

I've a relative who makes me binge-watch every season with her when they come out.

Yep, I have been binge watching this series. Just when I thought I would take a break, something happened that made me watch the next episode. I can't talk with the British accent, but if I could, I would talk like Poldark. His was eloquent.

Hey Bill, I was a bit confused seeing Mauve in Nazi town. My husband thought it was another extension of Westworld. What do you think?

Thanks, Bill. Who would want to go to a Nazi Westworld? Ugh, and I wonder where this one is located?

I recorded Avenue 5 & sort of enjoyed the first episode, but then started whizzing through the others (up to episode 5) & then deleted them. Anyway, I had second thoughts & un-deleted them, & watched the first three tonight, & it's great. All very silly, but what's going on is quite dark & the situation is slowly getting worse. So I recorded the last one tonight (UK), I'll watch the second three maybe tomorrow & the final three on Saturday.

I'm gonna watch the last episode of Avenue 5 in the next 20 minutes.
I also started watching the very first couple of episodes of Inside No 9 last night. It was okkkaaayyyyyy. Hope it gets better though.

Just saw a very good episode of Avenue 5, probably the best yet, where people onboard are convinced they're on earth in a simulation and keep trying to leave, with hilarious and fatal results.

I really like Inside No.9, even the weaker episodes have their moments. I think prior series have been better than this one, though. I'm glad to hear two more series have been commissioned.

Oh yah, i forgot you had said that. I'd like more of that level of comedy and daftness. I did like the rich antagonist who hates the rich Avenue 5 owner - who was from Peep Show - who unfortunately stepped out, he was great, so it's a shame he's out of it.

So apart from the doom n gloom and colonel kurtz horror of the coronavirus thread, is it likely the 3 most popular threads here will be what are you currently watching, what movie did you watch and Now playing!?
