any album with "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" on it, can't be called " the greatest" or " the best" of anything!

You have, in just a few words, successfully encapsulated the black hole of logic and reason that is the Steve Hoffman Forums.
Kudos!

Briefly put, Hoffman was an EQ consultant who "remasters" classic albums and sells these editions at luxury prices.
His background is somewhat shady, which I won't go into here (but the info is out there for the interested parties).
Anyway, he runs a discussion forum populated by his sycophants, where honest questions and critical debate are whisked away to the cornfield in favor of endless naval-gazing battles about the Beatles or speaker cables that cost as much as a car.
Mind you, there is a fair amount of good info to be found there--you just have to scrape away the layers of silly.

FSM is heaven by comparison.

So, are you saying my comment would fit right in - I.e. its "navel gazing about the Beatles"?
Or, you agree with me but the participants on that board think EVERYTHING by The Beatles is great- even the crap.
?????

I am not alleging that the denizens of the Hoffman board think everything by the Beatles is great, I am saying that they will sling often-vicious crap over minutia for threads running hundreds of pages long.
Therein lay the illness.
That's why your original comment was perfect (and a great entry for THIS thread).

Personally, I like "Maxwell".
One cannot blame McCartney for writing tunes that are true to his pedigree.
And that pedigree, for better or worse, is a fundamental component to what the Beatles were.

Oh that's easy.
It's exactly the kind of topic that a Hoffmanite will argue about ad infinitum and ad absurdum.
And I'm not kidding when I say such silliness will go on for hundreds of pages.

Another good example of the discourse there is the burning question of just who sang the "ahh's" in "A Day In The Life".
Sometimes it has to be seen to be believed and normally I would say "to each his own", but that can only go so far.

I'm not going to say any more about that place--they might come after this place.

Well, let's put the matter to the test: start a.new topic quoting my ' nerd war's statement. Let's see how many hundreds of pages it lasts!

Fyi it was John

Such a test would be pointless.
There is a degree of intelligence and tolerance here that would be completely repellent to such people.
It would be totally off their radar, even if it came up in a random Google search.

Now back on topic, dangit!

" Come Together" is lyrical nonsense wedded to musical mediocrity.

Ditto for " Rocky Racoon"

I quote you from your own post of Aug 19, 2019 - 2:46 PM:

"You're speaking truths, this is supposed to be a satire thread."
